Why it is happening to Bangalore
by Alok Kumar on Oct 21, 2005 04:01 PM  Permalink

It is Democracy, my dear sir. You get what you want. What you want you express through ballot. What Bihar is today, is what people want. It may be too harsh, but it is truth. Biharis are always concerned that their \'castewalla\' has become MLA, Minister or CM and they feel proud about it. Now look at the other side of the table. The man who is elected from X,Y or Z caste, he knows very well secret of his success. He performs accordingly to maintain that success. You must be surprised that I am talking about performance. Yes performance criteria is there. But this performance is not what you are thinking. He just keeps his voters in good humour. Things like welfare of the society don\'t exist in his dictionary, because he didn\'t get vote for that. He is doing what he was voted for. Therefore please don\'t blame him for the state of Bihar.

Same goes for Karnataka. Here is a message for the people of Bangalore. Next time you people vote, you should know what you want. Because ultimately you will get the same thing.

HD heads JD-S
by Amit Kamath on Oct 21, 2005 03:42 PM  Permalink

Dear Sir,
As per your column HD Deve Gowda heads JD(United). It is not the case. JD(Secular) is headed by him. And it is JD-S that is a coalition partner.

regarding bangalores downfall
by Bhushan Tulshan on Oct 21, 2005 03:33 PM  Permalink

Sir,
I am engg graduate and presently doing a job in andhra pradesh. I want to say is that the politicians(specially present ones) whether in andhra pradesh or karnataka they are doing anything to come in to news and talking like an iddiate fellows with the kings of IT world.
The previous govt were far better than the present ones as there focuswas on development of the state reather than the party.
they are those who had shown the dreams of such things and to far extent had satisfied evryone other than there rival parties.
It sounds and not like before a storm ,everything will be silent but we can hear about the fear in the air.
All we can do is to hope for the best to happen and things may come back on the right track.

with regards,
bhushan

RE:Bangalore
by A.H. Venkatachalam on Oct 23, 2005 02:41 PM  Permalink
At least in Bihar rot looks like rot. But in Bangalore, there is a facade. Inside it is rot. Politicians of all sorts practice hypocrisy here. They are callous and indifferent to the plight of citizens. The citizens' welfare is neglected. Roads are full of humps and pot holes. Traffic congestion is not managed by Police who do not bother about avoidable accidents which are a daily routine. On the other hannd, they try to make money out of desperate commuters.

Bangalore be left to proffessionals to manage
by Joseph Veigas on Oct 21, 2005 03:24 PM  Permalink

It is very sad that our ExPM is questioning the contribution of Mr Narayana Murthy when every one knows who has contributed how much to India in general & Karnataka in particular. Our state can really come to international standards if politicians stop meddling with the morale of proffessionals. Now atleast he can make peace with Mr Murthy for the sake of Karnataka's progress raather than criticising him in public

Jai Hind, Jai Karnataka, Jai Bangalore

What we can do
by Jayakrishnan on Oct 21, 2005 03:23 PM  Permalink

Now give some practical solution to come out from this trouble. I am here in Bangalore for the past 14 years, and I have not seen a CM like SM Krishna. He has to come back to the politics and has to put all these culprits inside the prison. SM Krishna is a good leader, we all will be happy if he come back to active politics. Rest are all there to make money.

These politicians can make money, but spend atlease 25% to the public, they are eating up 100%.

I have expressed my concern.
