Kalam is also culpable
by Cogito_ergo... on Oct 08, 2005 07:53 AM  Permalink

Why did President Kalam sign the proclamation in such a great hurry, at "midnight"? He had the option of seeking the opinion of his legal advisers or even of sending it back to the GoI asking them to get the opinion of the law ministry. Heavens would not have fallen if he had delayed the proclamation by a few hours or even a few days.
Apparently, our President is only good at preaching homilies to little children and has not grown up. It would be in the right of things if HE steps down from his office.

Dissolution of Bihar assembly
by Angel on Oct 07, 2005 06:34 PM  Permalink

The order of supreme court has clearly pointed out that the dissolution of assembly of Bihar was illigal. It is sad that the persident of India had been party of it, and onus lies on him for acting at it in haste without applying his mind before signing the papers. Do we need the presidents who are rubber stamps only? Image of the Manmohan Singh has also sullen as he collaborated with Lalu Yadav in rushing for it.

S C Judgement on Dissolution of assembly
by Ravi S Pandey on Oct 07, 2005 05:11 PM  Permalink

It is a justice in all respect. The verdict is quite balanced and equitable. We shall understand the democratic process in better way and appeal to the media to propagate the news in more abstract manner than making the same more sensesional. This is Mr buta singh's wrong happened to be an step of a Governer like a politician.
This judgement is in the same line to that of Mombai's judgement giving more strength to the democratic System.
