BE BOLD and adopt an tit for tat
by omprakash on Apr 30, 2006 10:12 PM  Permalink

we have to face this. as long as we fight the proxy war is against na-pak pakistan. if this country is not undertanding in diplomatic way. india should think of funding the many people in gilgit, northern provience, sindh which are also facing similar problem. Don't think this as an internal problem of other state. its better we change the policy of tit for tat.

sea change needed
by sanman on Nov 27, 2005 06:57 AM  Permalink

Never mind Musharraf's endless disavowals of further jihadi links, the reality is that they created this jihadi menace but they expect everyone else to deal with the mess and clean it up, just like they expect the world to bail them out of their earthquake. This hubris comes from Pakistani dictators being spoilt children who've never had to face accountability and penalty. The only thing that will 'drain the swamp' of fanaticism is a sea change in Pak politics, as occurred after Zia's planecrash.

THE POLITS BEHIND THE MURDER OF KUTTY
by baaluradha on Nov 26, 2005 10:37 AM  Permalink

its all in the hands of our media, the congress and our communist comrades!

they are capable of projecting themselves as sacred secular with the help of biased and pseudo intellectuals of our media.

the corruption, nepotism, looting etc of the present regime is being projected as an integral and inseperable part of our system. so no comments!

the vocker report, the Bihar fiasco, Iran vote, our PM\'S yes boss sub ordination to George Bush, our treaty with US, the sex scandal of our cabinet ministers ( still in the hands of the media waiting for a good bargain )etc seem to be secular and sacred.
As long as our MEDIA treat this UPA as a sacred cow things would not improve but may lead this country back DEVAS v ASURAS OF Puranic Age.

Is the same kind of compensation given to Indian soldiers
by Nanda on Nov 25, 2005 05:49 PM  Permalink

The brutal murder of Maniappan Raman Kutty was a act of cowardice by the Taliban forces and should be condemned. The immediate support to his family by the central government was really a noble gesture. Sudha Murthy has also donated Rs 10 lakhs towards the victim's family.
I just wanted to know how much compensation is given to families of soldiers who sacrifice their lives working at the borders and those who wish to stay back in India rather than going abroad to make big bucks.Does media give the same attention and hype to all those from the armed forces who die everyday in Kashmir? Our great president Mr. Abdul Kalam once said in his speech that we curse our nation as to what it has given us. We go to the US and then run from there when there are attacks from Taliban forces and head to UK, soon we leave that place when we subjected to racial attacks. Then we go to the middle-east and think its safe until we are kidnapped and then finally we remember our nation and ask for help. The Indian government most of the times agrees to their needs and bails us out. This message was not to comment on Mr.Kutty but was to bring up the issue of our brave soldiers who selflessly protect us.

M R KUTTY'S MURDER
by N.K. Raghunathan Nair on Nov 25, 2005 05:47 PM  Permalink

It was shocking and outrageous.

As a citizen of India and being a Keralite, let me take this opportunity to express my deepest condolence and sympathy to the bereaved family in their hour of crisis.

I strongly feel that Indian Govt. response to the deadline given by the Taliban was a very casual approach and not taken seriously. If the Govt. would have acted quickly then there was a chance of getting the deadline extended and negotiation continued. There is no point condemning and telling the world that we are against terrorism. Govt. must act quickly to save the innocent lives who are working various parts of the world to earn their livelihood.

Why there is different approach for different people and if we are sticking to one point we should follow without any deviation. Why I am making this point is because when Mr. Mufti Mohammed Sayeed's daughter was kidnapped, his daughter was released after negotiation and freeing the militants without any harm. We should have a common policy for all citizen of India without any reservation and there should not be any considerations.

Yours truly,

N.K. Raghunathan Nair
