abu salem shud definately be given death penalty but not by hanging but by making him sit on a bomb (of such a intensity which doesnt kill him instantly but within the span of 5-7 minutes) and then explode it s o that he can also realise the pain and agony which the victims of mumbai blasts suffered from. the question as posed to respond by you in the circumstances of extradition from Portugal is about credibility of State's commitment s to inter state
understanding for exchage of criminals and evil doers
across the borders. If we have given this solemn
understanding to the Portuguese authorities that
irrespective of the heinous crimes of terrorism in
Mumbai the trial courts shall not give death penalty
to the accused even if the judicial process warrants it and presiding judges convict this, its implementation can be stopped into a life sentence
and not just 14 yrs; As it is a mockery of it in most cases in actual practice..We must uphold our own credibilty and the fairness of Justice -adm.D. Goel
Though he deserves it, in the present situation we should not punish him with Death Penalty since, it would damage the image of India in the international society and also in future other countries may not accept the extradition of such criminals wherever they cought. Its an golden opportunity that India sleuths have got. Through Abu Salem they can reach all the people who have helped to criminal activities directly or indirectly.
Who care's, the common man is not bothered. Its good for the CBI they will make big money. Insert a micro chip in his body and set him free, then monitor his movement and catch others also.
