Yes, he should be given death penalty. Otherwise other sick minded people like him will get the message that they can get away with just life imprisonment after shattering the lives of innocent people.
Defenitely a criminal like Abu Salem doesn't deserve anything less than a death penalty. I think the portugal court should have taken note of his crimal background in India and shouldn't have put any pre-conditions before his extardition.

We should have thought about it before we committed. We cannot go back on committments at an international level. It is better to make the best of what we got. I personally feel, a more rigid and tortorous prison till death is worse than death. Only such punishments can induce fear in future terrorists.
first of all it is not at all justify to tell that salem is accused in one of the largest terror attacks on indian soil where only 247 people has died. which contains muslims,hindus,cristians and others also.
if you give death penalty to abu salem for such an incident and more over his role is not clear in it. may be he has done it on the saying of others also.
but the main terrorist narender modi what he has done every one in the world knows about it. and it is proved by commissions that he was the one who had planed all this unwanted terrorist attack on gujrat where all muslims killed and burt alive. so if abu salem has to face death penalty then modi has to hand over to the muslims of india then the things will be justifiable and i can say that india is also has a good justifying constitution for all the indian.
Also executive fails to file proper chargesheets and most of the time they either lack evidence or employ a lawyer who lacks knowledge about the case. We have seen that most of the culprits go scot free after all these dramas. I think judiciary should understand the importance of the culprit to be in India rather than egoistically assuming that executive has not given it due honor. History is evident that most of the cases are fought on the platform of ego. Was the judge in whose court the convict was produced had no information of conditions? Why did s/he raised this inappropriate question? I think this speaks of ego. All s/he was trying to say that how can executive take decision without consulting judiciary? May be (let us hope) s/he was demanding papers from executive. In that case it is fair , executive should have produced convict with papers of undertaking. Now, the job in front of judiciary is to look at the broader question of societal benefit than crying over non-executability of its judgement. An honest approach by both executive and judiciary will help India to throw mafiosi in Arabian sea . Death or no death for salem hardly matter.
