Mr Raman's mention that: "LeT, the HUJI and the JeM ... look upon J&K, Hyderabad in Andhra Pradesh and Junagadh in Gujarat as rightfully belonging to Pakistan. They want to... incorporate their 'homelands' in the so-called Islamic Caliphate advocated by bin Laden" is interesting. Actually, it would appear that the "Islamic Caliphate" itself was envisioned by Chaudhari Rehmat Ali, who coined the name PAKISTAN and was the real founder of Pakistan. He did so in 1931, when he had gone to UK to study Law at Emmanuel College, Cambridge University. Rehmar Ali's PAKISTAN conisted of *P*unjab (whole of it), *A*fghania (actually the entire North West Frontier Region), *K*ashmir, *I*ran, *S*indh, *T*ukharistan (the area area that existed as Turkmenistan and parts of the other contiguous Central Asian states), *A*fghanistan, and Balochista*N*. The letters inside the pairs of stars formed the acronym PAKISTAN. In fact, earlier editions of the Oxford English Dictionary and its "Concise" versions contained this definition of Pakistan, and it still exists in several other current English dictionaries. [contd.]
Absence of foolproof security is everybody's concern. But the growing pattern of seemingly unrelated incidents in the country due to the geographical and largely cultural vastness & diversity of the subcontinent also proclaims a laxity between the interstate police forces. Terrorist attacks on the Parliament, Akshardham, flight hijacking ETC ETC (emphasis on etc etc) is causing everybody to believe that such things won't happen when they are around. I personally believe that other than the parliament and J&K, beefing of security is largely on a temporary basis till the next headline concerning our protectors and law enforcers forces them to shift their priorities. All these incidents corroborate a pattern. But the defence installations, airports, and areas of national security (like ISRO, DRDO, HAL, NAL etc) will always have a lackadaisal kind of attitude when it comes to security. So really, we are just dogs, going to the next scene where the monkeys are playing a tamasha.. And to the next and so on. We can comfortably say that there will be another one of those... just let's hope the God's don't want us back that soon.
US knows very well that Osama Bin Laden is hiding in Pakistan....and US also knows about the terrorist training centres in Pakistan sponsored by ISI and Pakistan Govt...but deliberately they dont act becuase they have to sell weapons to Pakistan and if US attacks Pakisatani region to trace the terrorists, then India will be strenghthened and US doesn't want that. If there is no tension between Pakistan and India, then US cant sell its weapons to Pakisatan. So all the terrorists which are operating in India are all brain children of US......beware of american politics.....Take action before it is too late.....
This maybe an answer to Mr. Raman's qustion -Why did the persons responsible for Wednesday's incident target the scientists attending an international conference?
International conferences take place all over Bangalore. But my guess is, IISc was targeted because of the lax security there as is reported in the media. The failure on the part of the people in power to to recognize the worth of IISc, i.e. its scientists'contribution, is reason for the lack of security there. The govt has focused on the security of the IT industry in Bangalore because of the attractive and immediate returns that the IT industry brings in as well as the fat remuneration paid to its employees. The monetary returns for contribution of IISc may not be immediate. But, if someone tries to put a figure on them, they are invaluable. Hope at least now, people will give the brains of IISc and those who help them to make priceless contribution to the nation, their due. And really give tight security that the people of IISc deserve.

What I fail to understand is why the government is not willing to take any action against Bangladesh when it is a proven fact that it has been aiding and abetting terror in India for the past many years. Not only terror but it has been pushing illegal immigrants into Indian territory affecting demographic state in border areas.Stern military action will only set Bangladesh right.
Why terrorist struck Bangalore is well anlysed from various angles. The expectancy of econmic shift to Pakistan is a possible good angle. The increased terrorist activities are only to be expected with India signing antiterrorism and democratistion agreements with one of the seedor of terrorism -The USof A. Security coverage must be in the background with the general public not affected by such activities but secure, no one section requiring any special protection as in the early 60's when even foreign dignitaries used to visit in open jeeps!.Now even ordinary MLA's and some special citizens reqire upto Z category protection for all of which the blame is to be put on the heads of the world of politicins around the globe. 'As you sow so you reap' has become a little known of the present. with thanks, soma varma
