Whose turn is it next?
by Johnny F D\'Souza on Dec 30, 2005 11:36 AM

Absence of foolproof security is everybody's concern. But the growing pattern of seemingly unrelated incidents in the country due to the geographical and largely cultural vastness & diversity of the subcontinent also proclaims a laxity between the interstate police forces. Terrorist attacks on the Parliament, Akshardham, flight hijacking ETC ETC (emphasis on etc etc) is causing everybody to believe that such things won't happen when they are around. I personally believe that other than the parliament and J&K, beefing of security is largely on a temporary basis till the next headline concerning our protectors and law enforcers forces them to shift their priorities. All these incidents corroborate a pattern. But the defence installations, airports, and areas of national security (like ISRO, DRDO, HAL, NAL etc) will always have a lackadaisal kind of attitude when it comes to security. So really, we are just dogs, going to the next scene where the monkeys are playing a tamasha.. And to the next and so on. We can comfortably say that there will be another one of those... just let's hope the God's don't want us back that soon.
