It is Indian Intelligensia that has mortgaged its brains and lost their ethics!
1. First myth is that producing Nano is akin to social service above good commercial sense; As Ratan Tata cleverly put it in a near social service tone when he said, WHEN I SAW A MAN DRIVING A TWO WHEELER WITH A CHILD STANDING BETWEEN HANDLEBAR AND SEAT WITH HIS WIFE SITTING BEHIND WITH A TODDLER IN HER LAP, I have firmed up my desire and decided to provide a safer option.
Wow! a Western entrepreneur would have put it straight - I SAW AN OPPORTUNITY instead of Ratan Tatas camouflaging a commercial opportunity into near social service.
2. Stating on a public platform that several names were considered for his 1 lac car including Mamta is being mischievous!
3. True you cant blame Ratan Tata for not dealing with the opposition parties in WB. I differ with Sushma Sengupta here. The businessmen should deal with the Government of the day; it is for the political parties how to solve issues among themselves.
3. It is the WB Govt that has lost its moral fabric in this deal and the entire intelligensia blogging so vociferously in favour of Ratan Tata.
4. In the first place, what ethical and moral right a GOvt has in forcing some poor farmers private property to another private entity called Tata Motors?
Compensation, hefty or otherwise, is a different matter altogether.
The bloggers claim that the farmers are already poor and their living cannot be better if they continue to

till the land is a naked display of Nazist thinking; like Hitler wanted to kill all children born with imperfections like autism etc., as they are a burden on society.
5. Arguments that the land cultivation is not generating enough wealth for societal good and hence be given away to Tata Motors at market prices is like sacrificing the basic principles that govern a civilised society based on democraticy at the altar of plutocracy.
Can the same people dare say when Tata Motors was in the red a few years ago, that since the company is in the red it should be wound up and its factory land be used for other purposes?
When they cant make that argument why forcing a poor farmer to sell his land at a rate predetermined by someone else?
Does someone dare Ratan Tata to learn farming by relinquishing managing Tata Motors when it was in the Red?
If you can not say that how can you tell the farmer to learn some other vocation instead of farming? If Ratan Tata can not learn farming how a deprived farmer can learn some other vocation, and why?
A farmer does not know any other vocation other than farming. The maximum compensation that you gave 4-8 lac per acre will be consumed in one fashior or other as he doesnot know how to make it as a capital and start a new vocation. If his capital is consumed what will he be left with after a few years?
Why a farmer be deprived of his holding on his invesment in his asset for a better price increase in future?
The main problem is you have to create a real village as that of the present one for the farmers at a place and should have provided better farming amenitities. But whatever you do to farmers; although they will be happy but the politician and goondas never allow it to take place. You have an example in New Mumbai even after the large Telecoms acquired places but no amenities to the staffs for their travel or accommodation provided, because local policitician never allow it to happen to their citizens.
Too much of excess is bad. Mamata should not squeeze lemon till it becomes bitter in taste. Please save your energy for better occasions like to play an key role in making PM of India and other related issues related to Education, Business, employment of women. SOMETIMES YOU BEHAVE LIKE A TOMBOY AND ADAMANT TEENAGER0YOU ARE A NATIONAL LEADER AND BEHAVE ACCORDINGLY. TIT FOR TAT IS REQUIRED FOR A STALINIST PARTY BUT YOU MUST SEE THAT BENGAL'S INTEREST SHOULD NOT BE COMPROMISED. MILLIONS OF YOUG MINDS ARE LOOKING FOR OPPORTUNITIESM BEING A DIDI YOU MUST THINK FOR THEM WHO DESERVE A BETTER DEAL FROM A MODERN GENRE OF LEADERS. YOU HAVE LOT OF ENERGY AND FIGHTING POWER WHICH SHOULD BE UNLEASHED TO CREATE A NEW BENGAL.
Mamata bannerjee...how on earth can bull crap like you get away....people like you make everyone wonder that why is'nt dictatorship in India....and why are'nt people like you executed

You are one of those stupid people who has too much of time on hand.. GO and get a life man.. Putting a lot of crap wont fetch food on the plates of all those who are jobless.. I dont even understand where you have your brains?? or do you have it at all??
WB said Tata Bye bye to TATA's, the WB is largest Industrial state and one of the strong Root for Communism/Mao's thoughts. Naxal bhari movement to suport withdrawn movement including shut down of Nano Car Plant. Shameful act of Bengali People. As we observed/Known from the history "Bengali's different from others" bengalis are no doubt the Great contributers to Indian culture, freedom movement, social reform and most of the field. like- Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansaji to Sri swami Vivekananda, Subash Chandra to Jagadish Chandra, Bankim chandra to Sharth Chandra, Rabeendranath to Sathyajith Ray...manay more, but Unfortunate thing is WB has still "Goonda Rajya" the Commi/Mao thoughts are made the Rich state becoming poor n avarage. One could understand that, is Communism is right thinking for Indians? I say No- WB,Kerala both are rich states by education, infrastracture and Culture but there is strong opposition for Industrial Development. No Industrialist is ready to open up plant at Kerala, now same follows WB. If TATA's withdrawn from WB,its major setback for WB-state's future projects. What TATA can DO? Tata's Can Open project at MH/Haryana-UP OR Karnataka / TN. bcoz, these states has major Automobile plants so that they could get skilled-manpower. MH,Karnataka Or AP is Ideal place due to several reason, 1) Its near to Port for export (Chennai/mumbai) 2) Its almost Center to India, logistically easy to reach rest of the state. 3) both the state are pro-democrac
Tata's should not only exit from Singur they should file a compensation claim againt the West bengal government for their failure to protect its workers and their assets. Mamata should also be charged with a compensation of 2500 crores. She should have fought against the government of west bengal and against tata's. What ever they loose it is on the allotment of land by the west bengal government.

Agree the biggest problem with democracy is people will onlly get goverments as good as they are :(
call it play, politics, power, anything.. one thing is for sure, no one, trust me on that, can overcome a woman. she has it all- money, endurance and brains to think.
Tata could have played a more proactive role by offering better incentives to farmers or by negotiating with them directly or withdrawn from the site voluntarily as good corporate ethics. However, it did not do so either out of Indira Gandhi era thinking or plain corporate irresponsibility. Nevertheless its a right decision, better late than never. India does not want a nano stained in the blood of its farmers. Its a lesson for politicians and corporates on what price India is ready to pay for development. We have to move ahead together taking everyone's interest in consideration.

this is why india lacks in both industrial and agriculture development. So, now Mamta takes all those agricultural lands and starts her own industry -

Not sure if Tata was in the wrong here. There were apparently 13000 farmers impacted and only about 2200 or so that thought the goverment had not paid the appropriate price for the land they were forced to part with. The fact is they were all paid above the prevailing market rate for their land, though it's entirely possible that some genuinely believed their land was priceless and did not want to give it up at any cost.
Note that Tata did not buy the land (it's legally not allowed to). The government expropriated this land under the 1894 Land Acquisition Act. The transaction hence did not involve Tata at all.
At the end of the day, this could have generated billions of rupees in revenues and wages for West Bengal and, ironically, the very same farmers who may easily have found some gainful employment at the plant. WB's loss.

Tata did not construct Singur plant in the stain of blood of WB farmers. Farmers had sold their land for money as it is much beneficial them than doing agriculture in WB.
As WB already a third world state in India, the recent developments and growth will also come to a stop.
Let Mamta, left parties send out the Tata from WB and see whether any new industry comes up in WB.
Not even a patriotic and proud WB guy will open an industry in WB.
Politicians like Mamta Wants the people to be downtrodden, lazy and always remain in poor condition. So, that she can remain in power.
