Tata could have played a more proactive role by offering better incentives to farmers or by negotiating with them directly or withdrawn from the site voluntarily as good corporate ethics. However, it did not do so either out of Indira Gandhi era thinking or plain corporate irresponsibility. Nevertheless its a right decision, better late than never. India does not want a nano stained in the blood of its farmers. Its a lesson for politicians and corporates on what price India is ready to pay for development. We have to move ahead together taking everyone's interest in consideration.
