India is soon heading towards a phenomena called 'stagflation'.In coming years we could see inflation as well as stagnation. The neoliberal policies of our PM has virtually killed our farm sector...During his tenure as FM he decreased farm subidy under the duress of Western powers..Poor farmers became victim of money lenders as der was no coperative banks providing loans to these poors...This coerced many farmers to commit sucides..The loan waiver by UPA govt is not going to benefit 50%of the farmers as most of them have taken loans frm greedy money lenders...Very few know that no provision for money has been made in budget for loan waiver...All the loan amount has to be replaced by govt bonds....Recommendations of 6th pay comission would just fuel our inflation which is already hovering around 6%..Demand would rise nd in absence of supply we would be pushed towards stagnation...It would have been better if govt would have introduced performance besed incentive...This would have fostered competetion nd alos made sick public units more profitable without putting additional burden on state exchequer...
there r chances of Nation wide protest against this hike. no need to pay those non-performers from publick money. review every & each employees performance the kik them out

It's just okay if there's a hike on the basic. A percentage will come back via tax OR the economy will grow via spendings. However, there's got to be a huge revamp in governmental operations- right from Union to State. Most importantly, THERE HAS TO BE A HIKE IN PENSION - after all govt has to also think of its senior citizens who find it difficult top cope with rising inflation...

Govt. and CIVIL SERVANTS bashing has become fashionable and that has seeped into the psyche of a below average moron like sunil pradhan. If you think that you are better than the guys out there in govt. why don't you enter into the system and do some good rather sitting on the boundary and shouting foul.

Remember - It is TAX PAYERS money - not Pay commisions money.

Sunil, my comments were for Roni, not for you. Secondly how can you say my salary as 'public money' if I am in govt? Your computer is running on electricity given to your company by govt. The water you just drink is also given by govt you moron.

Both the electricity as well as water is paid - doesn't bother whether it is employee or employer. Mr. Akash, you may be a honest & upright govt. employee but it is sad to say that the majority doesn't belong to this class. It pains one & all irrespective of self employed or private employed. Do yr job & expect a hike. Its opposite in Indian govt. employee concept.

Where r u working and how much salary u r getting? 6th pay commission salry is only a corrective measure to some extent for the present escalating prices. Salary for a IT professional with B.Tech degree is more as compared to Ph.Ds in Govt.

pvt employees specially ITs salary is market driven. they r getting it from thr employers not from tax payers money. so dont compare
This is shocking...Everybody in world (not only india) knows how efficient and loyal our govt. employees are. Like pvt. sectors let them have apprisals. Make a note of how much work he has completed in a year most importantly within scheduled time not that 1 day of work completed in a month. Best e.g. for this in bangalore one of the Sr. govt. officer made a big news to complete underpass (they call it as Magic Box) in 36 hours in actual it took 33 days to complete. What action being taken to such employees??? how efficient & eligible are they for the work assigned.

That employee (read, the BMP chief) was transferred to Hubli to continue his mission there! That's the best action taken against a nonperforming Govt official! on the other hand, every second day, you read news of so many misappropriation cases and disproportionate wealth cases against top Govt officials; NO ACTION IS EVEN POSSIBLE AGAINST THEM!Not even a suspension! Because they are the ones to write the rules! will they ever dig their own graves?!!
Dear All, I totally agree to the fact that Govt employees are underpaid. In addition to the hike I was expecting an announcement for the betterment of working conditions for various dept. I having served far and wide in one of the elite security agencies of the Govt of India I know and all my friends too know that the working conditions need to be developed. Performance, consistency and transperancy will then follow. Also a constant comparison between a Management Post Grad and a govt servant should not be done.Look at the facilities and clearances high officials get when they are serving. The 40percent hike is on the BASIC. Look out for those Young Officers jumping out of their service and joining the Pvt sector.

You must be a Govt employss or the son of one such!what is the guarantee that performance will improve after the pay raise? dont you think the pay commission should have stipulated that as the basis for the hike? will the Govt employees accept such a recommendation? and, if the performance standards are NOT met, will you be open for a reversal? are you ready for retrenchment? Have you EVER faced a loss of job? that too for no fault of yours, if the company doesn't perform? talk logic.Dont try to beat around the bush! The Tax payers' money is being syphoned off by the Babus and Netas for their own good. In the form of load waivers and salary hikes. As someone who is NOT benefitted by all this largesses, what am I supposed to do? write in this forum and keep quiet and keep paying taxes for the pittance doled out to me in the form of public services?? keep paying bribes for even the basic? Or, join the naxalites and give a sound trashing to the Govt employees??
Chill....Read what I have written carefully. That just talks of improvement of working conditions...it was a suggestion. A lot of people who write here have neither travelled in the remotest parts of the country, nor serving any Govt Dept but they keep on finding only negative things.. and thats why they end up finding those. With due respect as I have served one of the finest agencies coming under the MHA ( Ministry of Home Affairs) and having seen and experienced some very imp things let me put in my points. Regards, Vishwesh
Though this may go a long way, but still the salary is not comparable with pvt. sector. My personal opinion is that the salary should be equivalent to the pvt. sector and should be sufficient to meet the justifiable requirement of the person so that curruption is minimised. effective check, then, on curruption would really work and will have support from all corners. We should learn lessons from the West in this aspect.
The Govt.servant has to serve atleast 33 years whereas the MLAs/MPs/Ministers are just 5 years. I do not understand what is the need to compare these politicans with the Govt. Servants? For any govt. job specifically there is a qualification is required for politicans like MLAs/MPs/Ministers etc. there is no such qualification mentioned anywhere.
In this scenario it is not correct to compare with the Govt. Servants with anybody.
Before writing/comparing one should use his/her brain.
