I totally agree with the statement of leaving the boss than a company. Its very difficult to live with the fact that in spite of company being good and lot of potentials to grow & prosper but Head is being manipulative and politically motivated things start getting worse.
If your boss is screaming at you everyday free-for-all to see, it is time, you leave your boss if possible or the company. It is after all not difficult to get ample opportunities outside thanks to IT revolution. Maybe your boss may be more talented and qualified, but you have the right to live your life on your own terms.

;) - thats a cool approach. if you were as talented and knowledgable as your boss, you must had been sitting at his chair, why working below him.
Its a skill to understand what your boss wants, and if you are capable of providing it before he ask for it. you are the perfect subordinate he is looking for.
I had seen many sales exeuctive, even before their sales manager demands for reports, or details regarding some projects, they have it ready to present, as if they know, the boss is going to ask it.
Even seen many Estimators keeping the answeres ready in a note pad, what they know the boss is going to ask before he signs the tender documents. ( They foresee, what the boss is more interested to know, where he is more concerned about?) thats the key to success
This is a very good article... Let all bosses read this.... all bosses are subordinates before and why can't you understand the problems of your subordinates..... Live and Let Live
In India, most companies are run on the basis of personalities and not on the basis of systems. This is why the boss's personality gets stamped over the office functioning. Also in most companies, HRD is the worst department who do not take cognisance of such facts and are least bothered about the bad boss. Once I participated in a 360 degree feedback but the results were leaked to my boss. So that was it - our relationship soured and he then tried to harm me in a variety of ways. I have seen that most bosses are themselves highly insecure and try to salvage their jobs at whatever cost and if necessary, play very dirty. This is more pronounced in Gulf countries where people earn lots of money without much work. While it is good to talk of boss management etc, HRD must be watchful and also guard against false complaints by lying employees.

Yes thats why in India we refer to HRD as 'Human Refuse Department' to correctly identify the power hungry, ego centric, underperforming bullies who reside there

Ever been outside INDIA, you wont have said so. The worst HR personnels are seen outside INDIA. Specially when you have Sindhi, Gujarati or keralite HRD team ? they will screw your peace of mind, demoralise you with their dirty tricks. Even if they are not directly linked with you.

Always this misleading and misunderstanding happens only a person is there in a same position/place for more than 2 years time.
there is nothing like boss these days. if a company wants to grow it has to run according to emplyees not to the bosses.tata and vipro all are commited to the employees and they struck away the leaders who are incapable to adjust and lead the masses of employees.if a boss is still bosing,he puts his organization in great risk
