Well, if all states adopt similar policies, the whole economy comes to a grinding halt. If the same measures are adopted by the entire EU, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, it is guns down to the Indian economy for ever. When India, one of the founder members of WTO, is demanding other developed countries open up their services sector as a process of implementing GATS Agreement of WTO, its own states have started reversing the process. How can India face the world when the issue is raised in UN Human Rights Commission and other world bodies? What do the voteries of globalisation have to face the world? Remember, WTO & GATS is not a one-way traffic. Implementation of WTO Agreements on give-and-take approach alone could solve world's unemployment problem and hence mobility of labour must be protected at all costs.
Make every communication across the state departments, central departments, public communication, i.e. roads, sign posts, news paper, etc only in Tamil or English.
But never oppose or say anything against anyone.
People will automatically stop coming and all the jobs will go to Marathis. I salute TN on that respect.
If the linguistic identity of Maharashtra is to be maintained, and it has to be stopped from becoming Bihar, then Raj must simply enforce what South states are doing.
Non-acceptance of Hindi language is the first step.
If India's states have been formed on the basis of linguistic identity, then Marathis have the full right to protect the linguistic identity of Maharashtra just as other states in the country do.
We should be pround of Raj. For what? Read below .............
Already, Congress and other so-called secular political parties have ensured that to win a seat in Loksabha/Bidhansabha, you need to play Caste-politics. Now, what Raj is doing is Community-politics. Why blame him alone?
In near future, when officially all of us will cease to be part of a country called "India" (anyway, we were more or less like that before British invaded us), we should remember Raj for putting the last nail in Bharatmata's coffin
Incidentally I do not see anyone calling himself/herself Indian; rather everyone is Marathi, Tamil, Telegu, Kananda, Malayalai, Punjabi, Gujrathi, Bengali, Oriya, UP/Bihari etc. first alongwith all possible types of caste names one can/cannot imagine.
I think its correct. it should not only be implemented in Maharashtra but all over indian in every state. Also those who are migrating should pay migration tax to the state they migrate. so that the state gets extra money to build more infrastructure. Also i would like to quote what DRGON said in the forum... he problem is that PPL FROM OTHER REGIONS do think SIMILARLY.... for eg the cm of karnataka said and i quote-------" if the it cos dont provide employment opportunities to the locals then v dont need them ".. this problem is everywhere in assam , northeast states, tibet ,usa and even in delhi... i think the locals should be given priorities everywhere be it bihar or maharashtra...the logic is simple--- when an industry is established----land is taken from the locals, the state govts provide incentives (which is from that of the taxpayers pocket and not from that of the migrant workers), if there is a pollution problem the locals hav 2 bear the brunt (the migrants can always return to their home state ), then isnt it logical to give "PREFERENCE" TO LOCALS ( I M NOT USING THE TERM RESERVATION).... THE PROBLEM AND MAYBE THE SOLUTION ALSO IS IN THE HUMAN NATURE---AND THIS PROBLEM IS OF UNIVERSAL NATURE..

Job should be given on the basis of competence and not on the basis of religion/ community etc.
Pray, what "competence" is required for unskilled labor jobs in industries? These jobs should and must go to the local populace where the industries are set up.

Why do we need states? Why dont we all vote to make all the states different countries? Let us ban the word Indian, and goback to prehistoric ages. What is next. A person from one district should be given priority over the other. Hats off to all you losers.
were so popular, he would have at least won 1 small corporatio election. He could not win it in his stronghold Nashik too, so just don't give him importance and he'll vanish.

Absolutely right. but some of print & electronic media (espacially north indian chanels) create wrong picture of leaders like Raj Thakerey & though ppls always react on wrong info. accordingly this useless news spreaded all over across nation & then migrants ppls misguided.
i dont where u got that statistics from..... but let me tell u the major difference betn the maraathis leaving outside maharashtra and biharis leaving in mumbai(i hate 2 categorise ppl but cant help it in this case)-- marathis have blended with the locals . they speak their language.. they have served the locals...they hav added to the pool of resources. they hav given more than they hav taken...they hav been law abidding....... no one is oppsing the taxpaying northindians who hav settled in mumbai... but v definitely resent---- the migrants who make lakhs here and go back to their states without paying taxes which they owe to the city we definitely resent those taxidrivers who charge exorbitantly much above the fare ( believe me this is very rampant) v resent those migrants who occupy the open spaces and build their slums there... v resent those who dont think that this karmabhoomi is to be kept beautiful and not just exploited if u use the resources then u hav to pay in kind... locals dont hav a choice .. migrants do....they come here .....make our lives miserable and go back we dont expect anybuddy to feed us all life...but atleast obey the law of land and respect the locals. dont the locals deserve atleast this much ?

the whole point of the scrap was--- (1)locals should get preference everywhere be it in maha. , bihar ,up or america.. (2)i dont condone the violence of mns... it does not even represent the views of 1 % marathis... so why target all maharashtrians ?deal with mns one to one...( some ppl had called marathis by derogatory names so i had 2 respond) (3) also migration to mumbai has to stop as the city resources r very much strained and the city can take no more.... i hope u agree wid me on these very fundamental issues.........

Migrate to Mumbai only if you stay their legally. What I mean legally is not to saty on footpath or slum but in apartment, MHADA house or bunglow own or rent as you afford. Pay taxes from you salary as per tax law. Also demand minimum pay as per law. Only work 50/60 hrs. I saw 10 migrated labour stay in 10x10 room without ameneties. Get less salary than local in same job. No health support from employer. Locals don't want to work like this & demand fair treatment from employer so employers don't want locals into their jobs. This what happening in mumbai. Those who think Raj is wrong are actully helping thses employers to exploit migrated workers. Don't sopport Raj that is fine but also don't think that Marathis are lazy that's why they are out of job.

Dragon, No denying the fact you're saying. You're absolutely right on. It's a God's gift that you've got a good leader. All the best wishes.
