anyone's losss is loss to everyone. It is a matter of big concern as to how a common man shall bear the indirect loss to him.

Shankar, there is no question whether one is of Sindhi or any other religion. It is true that what TATA Sky is doing squeezing the money out of the public. When i bought the TATA Sky system, the charges were Rs. 200/- p.m. Now with the introduction of new channels, the charges have gone upto Rs. 300 - 350 p.m. All the promises they made to me upfront have been defeated.

Good for the Customer

This kind of competition in any sphere is good news for the consumer. So the final winner will be the consumer.

RE:Good for the Customer
by Newswatch on Apr 09, 2008 09:21 AM  Permalink
It is really helping the consumer . Lets think.I am exagerating to make it easier to understand. Dish TV and Tata sky would have raised loans from banks to fund their business. Now they will not pay the banks. The banks raised deposits from common people to give loans to Dish and Tata. The Banks will not be able to pay the depositors. So the government steps in and funds the banks. For this requirement of funding the banks , the government raises taxes from everybody. So for subsidising the enjoyment of some TV viewers , everybody gets charged

Dish TV - worst possible customer service
by mang on Apr 09, 2008 08:49 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I am one of the early adopters of DTH, when dish TV introduced their service in India. I subscribed to their facility some time in 2004-05.

No wonder that dish TV is getting into a loss with such a pathetic customer service. Only after Tata Sky launch, these people started worrying about customer and upgraded their website and call center numbers. But it is still very difficult to get a resolution on issues from these folks.
Hopefully things would change for better with more number of service providers entering the market.

i dont think hanging wire beautification is their job. We have to provide the right infrastructure, and for that i am sure there are enough electricians available. Rs 1000 barely covers the material and time cost of their engineer visiting our place. In india no company makes money on installation. But,we are being unreasonable. Wouldnt it be easier to just get an electrician to beautify and enjoy the quality of picture you are getting. I use both, and find a mark difference in the overall quality of TATASKY. DISH is really not at par yet.

Both are same. DTH and TATA SKY are similar in all aspects. they will now improve as other 3 come in. they charge 1000 for instalation and they donot put a small effort of seeing to it that wires donot hang.then for what are they charging 1000?? pathetic companies. Infact all the companies in this field are going to be like that only. the consumer should be smart enough and keep them on their toes

exactly, I subscribed for Dish TV, almost everyday, there were problems, Customer care is worst, they allot one complaint number and says they shall get back soon. even after so many emails and phone calls, they simply go on alloting new complaint nos. I stopped their service and asked for virtual deposit of Rs.482/- They asked me to go to their Mahim outlet and my man went there two times, spending Rs.500/- for taxi and snacks, still they asked my man to come again after 3 days. I have foregone this deposit, considering that let me be a welfare / charity to Mr. Goel. What else can I do ??

Their customer service is horrible. Perhaps the worst in India. On top of that dish tv and tata increased their prices by double for the existing
customers without even giving notice to them or giving any option for exiting. You pay 2000-3000 right in the beginning and if you want to quit, you have to suffer the same as loss.

Moreover on complaining, their customer care executives hang up on you. They do not pick up the
phone for 2-3 minutes and the bell goes on ringing. They do not care to provide the correct information and talk very rudely. Even after disconnection, they keep on sending sms to remind of subscription charges!? How much worse can it get.
