Though the govt has taken measures like clearing duties for some essential goods ans banning export of some food grains, it will hardly help. This gives only a temperory solution. With the wave of making new SEZs India is already loosing a lot of fertile land, to add to this agony is the climate change whish is ruining standing crops. The Govt needs to work on new irrigation projects for dry areas and have canal systems to drain surplus water from the agngetic plains to the barren areas of MP and peninsular India. Ofcourse it will cost lot of money. but if we have made 4 lane roads all over India to attract white investors, it is certainly worth putting some efforts for the farmers which make about half the population of India, after all we are a argicultural country and that is our strength.
Export good quality grains low price...., import smelly wheat on high price...., no much price on wheat procurement..., import the same wheat on packed cover... this is Chidambaram's growth policy. Only his pocket is growing.

root cause of inflation is COMMODITY EXCHANGE and the trading and gambling of food grain prices. further, VAT has also been purposely misused by traders for increasing prices exorbitantly. after intro of vat, the prices hv been doubled within a couple of year, for no logical reason.

It is not just Chidambaram.. It is the Congress... and if you go into the roots, it is the foreigner Sonia, who is always interested in spending in foreign dollars (in all probability for commissions abroad, similar to Bofors; or Iraq Oil Scandal..)

add to the list: not giving enoungh funds for indigenous nuclear research; but going overboard in trying to sign contracts for nuclear purchases (reactors and nuclear raw material) from foreign countries that will mean spending billions of dollars.. (without doubt, such contracts involve kick back in dollars, that can be put in Swiss or Italian bank accounts)

Media says Chidambaram is not ready to end future trading.
Media says Chidambaram is not ready to end future trading. It means he is in favour the mafia behind the future trading. Govt. must start an enquiry how our FCI godowns got empty after our government banned grain export.
If you are going to destroy agricultural and fertile land to build your SEZ, you will definitely face food scarcity. In 2020, you will get a brand new Nokia latest model phone for Rs 200. But you will pay Rs 250 for a Kg of rice, Rs 400 for a Kg of wheat, Rs 1000 per litre of oil etc.
Keep up with this great development and face the consequences
Note: Am not against multinational or SEZ being developed in our country. But, the development should be a "planned" development. India has lot of fertile land and also lot of unfertile land too. So, why dont our govt form a committe of scientist, agriculturalist, environmentalist etc to select some acres of unfertile land. Develop that region with power, transport, water, hospital etc and then give it to MNCs or SEZ. All what our Govt is doing is to somewhat bring in MNCs, investments etc without thinking of the future or the environment. Probably our generation will benifit. But, we are doing injustice to our children and grand children.
Let the govt think abt it and save the agricultural land.
It make sense of future trading ban on all items considered for inflation. Govt.should take long term measures which will make stable market ie demand estimate and create supply. Since wages are going high in agriculture field, mechanisation is a must so that farmers do not loose in this inflation control thus they will produce more. we should not do way with economic growth while controlling inflation, we need to make supply more and more esp. within country.Mr Sharad Pawar and his ministry should pay attention to farming sector much more than cricket

You mean to say that hike in pay will fuel inflation. That,s a big joke.Had it been so, inflation should have been over the roof. Why are u so biased against govt, dont seee everyone in the same colour 99% are honest and they try to serve the nation in their capacities.Dont think that only armed forces serve the nation. Also understand that a govt setrvant support atleast five persons.A pay hike which comes once in ten years should not be seen as something being given to the employees as a noble gesture. It is their hard earned right. To improve the efficiency, implement the already existing rules and regulations without fear or favour. An honest civil servant should be adequately compensated for his work.

What a Joke!!!!!! Mr George you said govt employee are hard working ?.At least 70% govt employee are corrupt beside that you will never find them on there seat when it comes to public dealing.
The policy making body is not actually aware about the reason behind commodity price increase. A manufacture procure raw material and spend many expenses on it to make a consumer product. He could not market it without any profit. In India every where competition and in this competative market if the prices are going up it is no doubt the reason is only govt policy.
Here govt help industry and consumers by way of possible incentives. For example a paultry unit require feed at cheap rate. Maize farmer require good rate for his crop as the expense incured by him to cultivate the crop is huge as in fertilize, labor and other expenses. So govt. look all these factors and should help farmer by fertilize subsidy, paultry farmer by power subsidy and tansporting cost subsidy and each and every small scale industry to make competition among them for quality goods at cheap rates in the market.
Petrolium price increase lead transportation cost, in-advocate supply of power lead high cost labor and all these factor lead price increase in the market. Without rectifiying all these we could not stop the price increase. Imposing restrictions are foolishness and lead only for corruption.
