SEZ
by Neutral on Apr 01, 2008 09:33 AM

If you are going to destroy agricultural and fertile land to build your SEZ, you will definitely face food scarcity.
In 2020, you will get a brand new Nokia latest model phone for Rs 200. But you will pay Rs 250 for a Kg of rice, Rs 400 for a Kg of wheat, Rs 1000 per litre of oil etc.

Keep up with this great development and face the consequences

Note: Am not against multinational or SEZ being developed in our country. But, the development should be a "planned" development. India has lot of fertile land and also lot of unfertile land too. So, why dont our govt form a committe of scientist, agriculturalist, environmentalist etc to select some acres of unfertile land. Develop that region with power, transport, water, hospital etc and then give it to MNCs or SEZ.
All what our Govt is doing is to somewhat bring in MNCs, investments etc without thinking of the future or the environment. Probably our generation will benifit. But, we are doing injustice to our children and grand children.

Let the govt think abt it and save the agricultural land.
