Well I never knew that there could be so many bottlenecks in biometric.India being a tropical country with temperature soaring as high as 40 C ,I guess safeguards need to be taken. Anyway Kapil this was a nice piece of information

you khow that if he is hiking the rate of interest for housing loan (who takes housing loan 5 of ten), but at aaother hand he is hiking the FD, PPF, PF interest rate also (95 @ of the indian people who are working)
The idea is great, but at the same time, it will be more useful incase the same technology is used for CREDIT CARDS as this will reduce a lot of risk in illegal transcations by unauthorized persons...

he has no power to do that...credit cards are managed by foreign co's. visa and mastercard are from US.

Dear Kapil,
Current Retina identification technology is used by many smart cards. So the govt will go for it. There is no problem with soap washing or anything else as the identity will remain unique.We should not assume cases but try to give some solutions. (Suppose currently a person looses his hand in any accident, then how will he sigh???..does it mean that he is unauthorized person???...Also please note the final end used or CREDIT CARD for INDIAN REGION are we people. If we provide a good suggestion, then implementation should also occur even though the concerns like VISA and MASTERCARD are from US. It do not make any difference. Its a very good idea of bring in biometric pan cards,this will surely be usefull in many ways,it will slowly help us to compute the actual population and help us with numerous statistics records,IF ANY PERSON IS QUESTIONING THE COST OF THE IMPLEMENTATION,THEY BETTER KNOW THAT THIS WILL BRING MORE RETURNS TO THE COUNTRY.....I AM AWAITING FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION EAGERLY

In that case what will the census board do? Please understand Indian population,it has such a wide cross section with a good percentage in the rural areas and other unorganised sectors. Do You know number of tax assessees form a significantly lower proportion of the entire population of our country Give it a thought

i really appreciate the concern of our finance minister for biometric pan cards, but before implementing this exercise, please make sure that this is done in stage wise (or city wise) and last but not the least the infrastructure to be done especially roads in mumbai city to be made atleast decent, thx
