Quota
by sbhujanga on Apr 26, 2006 05:47 PM  Permalink

Quota system or reservation policy in any field either in education or in recruitments for jobs followed by promotions, political berths is the policy of a bankrupts ( in mental capacities of policy making and public appeal by fair and moral means) council of so called statesman or legislatures conviniently and jointly adopted for self survival(also their dynastic survival) by an enforced law. They are empowered to act so by well supported legal means called elections which they manage by successfully duping the million innocents periodically. And these innocents are later punished for expressing their innocence and faith in such great personalities called constitutionally elected legislatures.

by Shirish on Apr 26, 2006 05:38 PM  Permalink

Dear Sir,

This is a fantastic article you have written. It is time to raise a voice against this injustice to deserving people in the name of reservations.

You should take this forward and make people wake up to facts.

Best Regards,
Shirish

First of all system of concession is should be abolished. Once certain concession has given for a certain thing, the beneficiar does not want to change from the certain thing. He wants to remain as he is so that he can enjoy. Also we indian forgot the sharing wealth with the needy. We have become more westernised. Our old values have been thrown out. I personally feel that present condition can not be changed for which taking message or opinion from individual is simply a waste.

Equality - is it really there?
by SBasu on Apr 26, 2006 05:18 PM  Permalink

It is simply not true that "all young minds are trained to treat all our fellow Indians as equals in every respect right from childhood."

The reality is quite the opposite, even at primary education, access to drinking water, and much more.

I do want to say that this is not a theoretical agreement: I have seen this starkly in the little time I have spent in villages.

So, let us not deny the inequalities which exist; let us find how to solve these.

quota: more of a curse than cure
by subrat on Apr 26, 2006 05:00 PM  Permalink

Nice article
duly covers all arena and justifies the over treatment of a scheduled caste chief secretary still seeking a seat thru his oppressed backwad caste birth for his child. it tenders a humiliation on the part of those who are deprived of a seat for their being in the upper caste.
Long live caste systems, long live the petty politicians, who literally sell their vested interest for anything.
they shud be shot in a row, Arjun Singh, dont provocate ppl to form a RDB (Rang De Basanti) team.

As i understand the principle of reservations is "ALL THINGS BEING EQUAL (repeat) EQUAL, PRIORITY TO THE BACKWARD CLASS"When an OBC can get in with 40% marks and the so called upper class fail to get in with 90% how does it constitute 'being equal'?Are we going to have different passing marks for the OBC in exams in the IIMs too.10% for the OBC and 40% for the rest?GOD save equality.

This message is pathetic. Instead of looking forward, it looks back. The principle is eye for eye, hand for hand, etc.

Could there be a better policy than reservation?

But there has to be a time limit for it, as for anthing else. This was recognised even by the Constituent Assembly. Howver, to gain political and create a vote bank, our greatest politicians used the policy of DIVIDE & RULE of the Britishers.

Just imagine reservation by religion, caste and creed without improving the lot of 70% of the population.

A stage will come when the Forward castes will have to seek reservations and the Backwards will suffer the same fate as the forwards are now suffering.

Can this divide not be arrested? First improve the lot on the basis of gainful employment so that the family can form an educational base. For this, first improve the education and the general awareness and importance of education at primary levels.

Let us lose some vote banks by making education as criterion for voting instead of praising the un-educated and backward as a matured democracy, capable to elect educated.

LET MATURITY OF THE POLITICIAN be the first step to reservation.

Only the person who have suffered will know how it feels. If you think that current reservations where true talent is taken a back seat is a just, then I want to say that "People in India have tasted the blood" they will NEVER ever let go the reservations for EVER. God save the country and God save the country from those who support it. I want to ask you one question: "If you have to get operated, do you want your doctor to be Highly qualified or from a Backward class community?"
