We are losing ground to China at this moment, we will have millions unemployed if the clients pull out of the deals. It would be a national crisis as most BPO employees are not good at any other job after they get into customer support and in India no body knows what a customer and why they need support. Indians have dug out a mass grave for themselves to lie down after the clients pull out of the deals. People are trying to make money without pain. It is extremely disappointing act by Indians just because of a few fools whole country is suffering the loss. give them capital punishment. Hang them in their offices so nobody would ever think about cheating or misusing the client's information.
As with all IT-related news, the BPO-theft is another piece of hype. Why is the theft of information such a big issue in the Indian context? Salman Khan is still enjoying celebrity-status after being caught for poaching and manslaughter. Neither will Tiger Pataudi be convicted. When life itself has no sanctity in India, should information-theft be accorded any importance, just because it belonged to some foreigners?
It is time that India started generating indigenous jobs rather than take pride in being a "BPO nation". It is short-sighted to imagine that the BPO boom is going to last forever. As soon as the business owners find a cheaper alternative, with good infrastructure, they are going to opt for that. We certainly don't need credibility issues like data thefts at this point.
While it is ok to make hay while the sun shines, it is also time to get real...the sooner, the better.
The Law enforcers and The Police Personal are far less knowledgable (The constable needs to be just 10 std passed) that .. they can hardly handle such situations. The skill sets of the so called specialised cell to handle cyber crime are a far cry from any respectable standards. As a nation we are failing to stand up to international standards in legal system, and this will affect our economic progress as well. Its TIME that our administrators do some work for the nation as well (apart from their party works).
It's the time when our country is positioned at a place in the outsourcing industry, where many are waiting for cracks and pitfalls to show. Because as a leader there are many who are closely following the India model. The recent scam in one of the BPO in Pune, is a result of negligence of the BPO company itself. It's very difficult for one to believe that when all the calls are monitored and recorded, how this can happen, moreover the customers are also responsible for disclosing their PIN details which are not to be disclosed to anyone. The BPO's in India should learn a lesson from this and make the checks in their system to avoid any such scams in future which would spoil our country's reputation in ITES and BPO domain.
Its legal system is totally dysfunctional and police are out of control.
1) People have no fear of law as they are trained to break it and trained to misuse the laws.
2) CEO of Indian unit of EBAY Avinash bajaj got arrested with no fault of his. Imagine the equivalent, a case of somone posting a adult picture in Parliament notice board and police arresting the speaker for it.
3) The Elder Abuse in India has gone up in such a high manginitude that even WHO has put a warning. The latest scam is the Daughter-in-laws falsely complaining to police about the cruelty by in-laws and the police comes with nonbailable warrents to put these old and sick elders in jail (WITHOUT INVESTIGATION). Feminists are saying that will send a strong message to society even if it is a false case.
Such a think has happened several times in western countries, if not the same - but the similar kind of theft. why are agencies like forester gwtting the whole IT & ITES market into picture,
This is not the first instance where funds from customers' account were illegally transferred to other accounts. There are many instances where some people working for some big companies were involved in such fradulent activities. There were a few instances in Hyderabad where some employees working in the credit card business got hold of the passwords of customers and milched their customers. Such instances are not coming into light as these companies do not reveal such things to media, for obvious reasons. It's high time financial institutions and BPOs go for a strict code of ethics and make employees sign in agreements that would dole out severe punishment to whoever tries engages in such fradulent activities.
