Personaly, this article acted as a positive mantras within me after reading it.
I am a B-tech even though I want to enter a BPO sector because of a one MAIN reason i.e. MONEY honey. Its true that even B-tech fresher are not getting salaries even close to what these BPO Co. are offering only for speaking with people around the world and having a technical background will work as addon.

First of all you need to pick good voice accent either US or British. There are lot of training institutes in metros which offer these courses. The other easier thing to do is to watch CNN and BBC regularly. You can also do voice recording of such news items and replay to see if it matches the accent of the news reader. Try , try until you suceed is the mantra for success.
Be Natural but absolutely Positive; show that you have that willingness to learn something new, are willing to go that bit extra to understand and carry out what is expected of you, that you are flexible and mature in thinking that will set you apart from the mundane.
The team at MoneyMailingList.com have just announced that their subscription service and archives section are now free and open to the public. If you haven%u2019t heard of this mailing list before then here is a little background information for you.
Money Mailing List was created by Vinn Lachiem of Vinchi Solutions and some of his internet marketing associates. The idea was to create a subscription service for networks of internet marketers and entrepreneurs to join. To join the %u201CList%u201D, there was a joining fee and a monthly on going fee. Rumors of $2000 and then $100 per week had been heard of in marketing forums but never confirmed. This may seem like a ridiculous amount of money to pay to receive one email per week. But when the email contains information of latest market trends and products, leads and underground campaigns, any entrepreneur with half a brain could become very wealthy very quickly! To cut a long story short there were plenty of winners and losers but the good news is now we can all go and see what all the fuss was about and not pay a cent!
Money Mailing List is offering a %u201Cbeginner%u2019s material%u201D service. They are still sending out weekly emails but apparently all the complex math and algorithms have been stowed away for a rumored %u201CMML Marketing Definitive Collection%u201D to be published early 2008. Surprisingly, the archives are now free to use as well. The archives would be of great use to any new members wanting to know how to get started in the world on internet marketing. A recent press report stated that Money Mailing List have changed the structure by which they charge internet marketers to submit articles, tips, and products to their service and therefore they do not charge a member%u2019s fee.
Let%u2019s face it, at the end of the day anyone who is interested in learning how to make money online, and that would be most of us, will find this service a valuable tool and resource center to kick start their internet marketing career. As everyone knows its an era of outsourcing. Countries like India, Philipenes are reaping from this phenominon. What is the need of the hour is listening to your customer and sorting out their quiries. The essential traits required are Effective communication skills, patience and computer literacy. Whenever a candidate looking for a job opening in a BPO, he should analyse the requirements of the position, say for example for a BPO serving a US MNC, he should be capable of communicating with the American accent; which is different from the British. Another thing is patience, especially when a customer is kept on hold for some time he is going to irritate you. You should be able to work in long hours of way say 13-16 hours a day; should arrange your mind to work in shifts may be mid night, early morning.. all in the game.
I had applied for a Job at Sitel & cleared the Interview Rounds for Telecaller & also got my Appointment Letter. But the very First Day that I joined there I was told that My accent was not as per the required Criteria & the trainer was not sure how I would make it through the training. After 2 Weeks of Hectic Training, I was told that although I had cleared all my rounds, But I was being failed for Slight indian Accent.I was asked to try again for new Batch & after some time when I( tried to give my resignation, I was again asked to wait for a fresh Batch. I told them that I did not have time to wait & resigned. Within a year of leaving The BPO, & starting as a Sales Executive, I was promoted to the Manager Level in another Indian Company.I just want to know that If the Trainer had known on the first day that I would not make it why was I cleared in the prelims & given appointment Letter. & the other more Important Question is how I was able to succeed in another Company. Are the Judgements taken Individuual with no second Opinion requirement ? Please enlighten me

With regard to Sanjeev's case, I wish to state that many times, the selection procedure is flawed. There are many variables, the most glaring being that there is no consistency among the interviewers, i.e., the HR personnel. This may be due to inexperince, fatigue, meeting the numbers and/or partiality. Any of these reasons could lead to cases such as Sanjeev's. Having said that, I must remind Sanjeev that Sitel deals with processes outsourced from abroad, and he had the accent problem there. In the Indian company that he was selected to later, the accent would certainly not have been an issue. PS: I am a Voice and Accent Trainer.
