Fake CV's are not big problems
by on Feb 21, 2007 09:15 AM  Permalink

Faking CV's means writing something which is not true in your CV's. I think there are VERY FEW people who writes everything true in their CV's or we have no more HARISHCHAND Today who always says true. Do the people who are making this an issue can say that they have never lied in their life?.
In my opanion if a person is able to deliver his duties properly despite faking his CV, then it shouldn't be taken as a crime otherwise a chance must be given to the person to clarify, leave the company or compensate the loss.
There are much more serious cheating issues that exist in corporate world which needs attention and money to figure-out than the fake CV's. The only reason which appears clear to me from this issue is that there will be new business interest of the corporate world by raising this issues. You will find companies coming up claiming for doing verfication checks and doing brisk business at stock markets. Whereas the liers will still be there. That's all

Fake CV
by Razor on Feb 21, 2007 07:24 AM  Permalink

Faking a CV and clearing the interview on that CV is an art. People who come out in flying colors are any day smarter and more worthy than the ones who cannot. I have tried it but trust me its not an easy task. But am sure and confident that One day I will make it !! I have it in me !!

Fake CVs - What about companies?
by Vinod Sharma on Feb 21, 2007 06:02 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

What about companies who submits fake cvs during bid process. They magnify their staff skills and submit to get projects. Its a standard trend.

And if you are technically excellent and go to comapny saying that you dont have any experience, will they take you? No. They forced you to manipulate your CVs.

I dont buy this argument. Not all jobs require experienced people. For example, companies pick freshers thro campus interviews. If you dont have experience then why apply for a job which asks for experience? You are manipulating something because you feel u stand to gain and then blaming the system!! If you are willing to accept the gains you get by faking resumes or any other form of cheating then be ready to face the consequences also. Dont blame the system at that point. While faking, many people inherently assume that they wont be caught and when caught they are totally un prepared and start blaming the system!!

Faking the cv is a crime and the people doing it should be jailed and black listed and should not be allowed to work anywhere so that they get to know and realise the mistake they have made in forging the cv.

We are speaking abt Fake CV

But everyone in IT industry Know that BIG companies sell their product to Clients with Lot of Lies(Less Truth to be precies)

And while outsourcing the HR executives say to the client the resource you have selected know everything ,

And above all these person's who doesn't know anything abt a Prjt will be leading the team and earninig more than everyone

who is to be punished for all these

In today%u2019s Competition is not imp to prove your knowledge but to show how efficient you%u2019re in selling yourself

So who is capable of selling then should not be blamed for anything

Well, you are looking at the advantages of faking and saying that if you seel yourself you are right in faking. Then be prepared to face the music when you are caught. Companies which bluff to clients or others by faking their profile or about their employees also will get caught eventually and will lose their reputation. There is no excuse for dishonesty. We become dishonest by seeing some short term gains in it but we dont want to face the long term losses associated with it. If you are prepared to face the consequences of your actions then go ahead at your own risk but dont complain once the stage is set for you to faec the music !!!

Have YOU ever embellished your CV, or faked it altogether? No.
However, I do have experience of 5 months as a trainee that I do not have proof of - not my fault; the certificate would have to come from a ministry in Delhi and by the time we thought of applying for it, I got a better job and moved. My resume clearly mentions this role as 'trainee engineer' which is what I was there.
.
What do you think prompts a candidate to fake his or her CV? Aren't they afraid of getting caught?
Yes, they are! However, since companies were not willing to spend on training and looked for skilled resumes only, candidates took the risk. I have interviewed so many candidates with obviously fake resumes - at times copies of other candidates'. My company has terminated people based on fake resumes. I hope this changes because nowadays, companies are willing to invest in training.
.
Don't you think Indian companies will earn a bad name due to this?
Yes, they will and do. But Indian companies are themselves to blame. They did not want to invest in training. They also did not have interviewers skilled enough to reject a fake candidate who had learnt answers by rote just for the interview. The third thing is the chaltaa hai attitude of Indian companies. They feel that the candidate, even if he does not have experience, will learn quickly and be able to work. This means billing for the candidate (dollars for the company) - an unethical practice. Lastly, a few companies themselves change the resumes of people to show fake experience so that they can place those candidates in a plum role abroad (where it will be difficult to check their background).

Serious Issue
by karthik gokare on Feb 20, 2007 11:23 PM  Permalink

We are living in an era where there is a high degree of competation.Expectation is too high .
Its more of result oriented.Emphasis is more on smart work rather than hard work.

So my fellow software engineers .its a wake up call for all us.
This issue needs to handled at the grass root level.
If this trend continues it will be serious issue.

As we all know companies
are moving out of india to other locations like brazil, china, malyasia because of cheap labour.

Finally companies would say we are not able find right person for right job.

so enhance your skills.

Sad... email your resume to kausix@rediffmail.com - my company has started recruiting non-tech-degree guys. You should definitely be a graduate. I'll refer you if you are.
