U should join a Airhostess Training Course
by Rohan on Jun 12, 2006 08:11 PM  Permalink

I think candidates interested to take up the job of a Airhostess should take up these courses coz most of these candidates are first timers , they do not have knowledge about Airline industry . Insitutes like SUPRSONIC INSTITUTE OF AIRHOSTESS TRAINING and other insitutes help such candidates and make them into good stewaerdesses .

Hi Andrea,
I'm glad to know of your determination to fly high as an Air-hostess. Well, I was an Air-hostess, never attended any Air-hostess Academy. What an Airlines look for is, not someone who merely finished an Air-hostess training course, but who can look after themselves and others with care and poise, and able to handle emergencies confidently. If you have a caring heart and a zeal to serve others, if you can still smile in the midst of an unhappy situation, if you are a responsible and willing to handle emergencies, even at the cost of your life, you're on! Many people think an Air-hostess' job is just about serving food and drinks on board. But its more than that. Much more than serving food, it takes a lot of patience and presence of mind to handle difficult passengers, delays, shortages, medical emergencies and other inflight emergencies, doing all these with grace, poise and warm smile. If you already know what it truly takes to be an Air-hostess, a delightful smile and proportionate body to go with, you don't need an Academy. But its upto you if you still want to try the Academy. All airlines provide inflight training course for their recruits. All the best Andrea!

On joining an airhostess academy
by Jai on Jun 12, 2006 07:09 PM  Permalink

Airhostess academies typically charge very high fees - one leading player is charging upto a lakh! I would suggest that you gather information from airline companies on what qualities they are looking for in their perspective airhostesses and then see whether u need such an extensive training or could do with something alternate, like maybe a course in grooming. Also, please realise that only 1 or 2 out of every 70 or 80 candidates that pass out from these academies actually go on to become air hostesses. The rest end up in hospitality businesses like hotels, travel agencies etc. So, unless u have that kind of money to take this gamble, it is surely worth a rethink. However, it is a very exciting career and lot of people do get in directly without such formal training.

Dear Andrea,

Good that u have decided to join the aviation industry, to fly high in your career. Please keep the following in mind.
-This is a short lived career. After you attain an age of 25(for boys) and 27-28(for girls), the process of a golden handshake starts and u will have to leave the air and start groping for ground realities. You are tottaly lost what to do after that. Eventually you either settle down as a faculty in some institute or live on the interest earned out of youer savings, if any.Your future starts the misty journey.
Iam not exaggerating as i have a hands on experience in training prospective Airhostess and Hospitality personnel. Iam the former Centre Head of FRANKFINN INSTITUTE OF AIRHOSTESS TRAINING and my experience tells me that Frankfinn, along with many others only makes tall promises. That was the main reason for my quitting Frankfinn.I could not operate in a falsified zone.

Please think of becoming Airhostess only.....
- If you are fair and tall i.e minimum 5.7, and pretty looking
- If you have a fluency in english and hindi
- If you are well educated and come from the upper strata of society
- If you are broad minded and sociable.
Sudhakar
