low skilled maid service sweatshop
by MJ on Jul 10, 2006 12:32 AM  Permalink

Infosys hires engineers and makes them work on jobs that any high school dropout with an IQ of 90 can do.
If Infosys is such a great company why do they lack the ability to conceive, fund, market, develop, validate, sell and support one product?? Instead Infosys offers maid-service to other companies using overqualified
engineers ultimately killing the careens of those bright youngsters. So take it easy on the hype of recruitment.

Rubbish news
by Manas on Jul 09, 2006 05:31 PM  Permalink

Why is it that anything Infosys does makes front page news ? In my
opinion Infosys is more a Public Relations company than a software
company.

This new batch of 25,000 people, are they headcount additions or
are they replacements. Infosys never talks of their attrition levels.
Every year there are news that Infosys will hire in thousands. Going by
that Infosys should have been a 100,000+ company by now. But, Mr
Pai says Infosys has only 52000 people.

News or interviews like this is just a way of getting cheap publicity.
Compare this free interview, with a Rs6 lakh half page ad on Times of
India Ascent. Now we know why Infosys always likes to be in the
media, because its free.

Look at companies like TCS or even Wipro. They are quietly going
about doing their business.

The whole thing appears to be out of this world fantasy. I hope and pray that this is true and wish Infosys a long successful years.

RE:Infosys hiring
by Abhai Tripathi on Jul 10, 2006 05:58 PM  Permalink
How is your husband sure that he was rejected only because he couldn't answer two questions and also his other answers were correct? I am sure the HR wont tell that in their rejection letter, the reason for non selection. Before blaming Infosys recruitment process, look into your own credentials first. Infosys still recruits best of the talent and their HR is a world class HR.

Mr. Siddharth Puranik , u r very much infoscion in ur approach when u blame manisha "what she has to do with company policy"...i had wasted 7 month sin infy and know how it sux....70 % of the work there is maintainance and testing....which is crap!!! no arguing abt that....whenever anyone has a grudge and conatcts senior management he or she says " sorry... we dont have company policy for that"....these ppl will recruit 25000 ppl ..put half of them in bench.....why shdnt one ask why infy puts so many ppl on bench.....wasting young careers...u must b some PM from infy ...they only talk this way.....

manisha was wrong abt aptitude test....

but the ibfy freshers recruitment policy suxxx...u memorize puzzles from shakuntala devi and u bag a job...where is the learnability and aptitude tested here.....mr infosys...?? in 2004 they even had done away with the unnneccessary HR interview,.....

One thing is true it does generate so many employement....but plzzz dont go to IIT or REC campuses and recruit dreamy eyed talents from thr...they aare not menat to do testing and support work.....and PM can shamelessly ask ppl to work on weekends without even paying overtime.....suxx!!!

Low-Profile Recruitment process
by Kavitha on Jul 09, 2006 02:50 PM  Permalink

Hi,
I am writing on behalf of my husband who has recently been to the Infosys interview. He had gone through the interview process answering everything to the point. But he could not answer only two questions. But since the questions were related to their domain, they rejected him. I expected the infosians to know that if he has managed to answer all the questions, he is very smart enough to learn the answer to the two questions asked. This proves how immature is the technical selection process.
