Why is it that anything Infosys does makes front page news ? In my opinion Infosys is more a Public Relations company than a software company.
This new batch of 25,000 people, are they headcount additions or are they replacements. Infosys never talks of their attrition levels. Every year there are news that Infosys will hire in thousands. Going by that Infosys should have been a 100,000+ company by now. But, Mr Pai says Infosys has only 52000 people.
News or interviews like this is just a way of getting cheap publicity. Compare this free interview, with a Rs6 lakh half page ad on Times of India Ascent. Now we know why Infosys always likes to be in the media, because its free.
Look at companies like TCS or even Wipro. They are quietly going about doing their business.
