Raj,

Theres a big difference between what you CAN do and what you SHOULD be doing instead.
What makes you think I said, "training 6 days means training to failure"? The article is about gaining mass and getting in good shape. Its NOT about bodybuilding and obviously you werent listening!

I used to train with weights for 6 days, 2hrs a day, not to mention (without a CNS fatigue) lol!
My body was rock solid, I developed lotof strength, but there wasnt a pound of visible flesh I gained.

After some frustrating moments and interesting training methods, did I go for a complete U turn and switched to 3-4 day/week schedule. In less than 3 months there were UNGODLY results.
This soon became practice pattern for quite a few of my friends and fellow trainees. And they ALL had something +ve to say about it.

There are diff body types, urs is different. If u got bigger training intensively for 6 days (congrats!) you certainly are not a Hardgainer!

and 1 last thing. u say "any brand of creatine WOULD work" ??!!
Raj, we r talking "the brand the works the BEST"

Check out Creatine dibba from "Hercules" and "PROLAB".
I promise you GRANULARITY differences. There are other diffs too.

ciao!

Creatine supplementation requires more research??!!
by Raj on Aug 25, 2005 09:35 PM  Permalink

Creatine and Protein are by far the best supplements available around. A number of clinical trial studies are available which support the intake of Creatine during high intensity exercise. Creatine is being researched since the last 6 years and no long term side effects have surfaced. America is the leading consumer of creatine products and the writer having obtained her degree in nutrion from Texas ought to have at least indicated why she doubts creatine. Creatine has also shown to induce hyperplasia. Also, vegetarians will respond very well to creatine as their diet lacks this substance. And there are no magic pills. Any other brand of creatine would work.

I feel this article could have been more comprehensive. A 1000 cals extra per day will lead to fat gain. No more than 500 extra cals should be consumed per day.

Most importantly, you CAN work six days a week to grow big. The reader Rahul was wrong about this. You do not need to train to failure and your CNS will not be fatigued. The old school methods for hardgainers were developed through trial and error. Spacing your workouts and taking off days isn't mandatory.

Where do HARDGAINERS stand?
by Rahul Joshi on Aug 24, 2005 12:25 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The article mentions nothing about Hardgainers? These are the majority of people we see around us. They JUST WONT gain weight or mass by anything mentioned here UNLESS they follow the basic principle for every Hardgainer, that is...

EAT MORE - EXERCISE LESS - REST MORE

MORE & LESS ofcourse does not mean doing things in excess mindlessly.

For example...a Hardgainer usually would workout only 4 days (maybe 3) a week!! Yeah thats true. I know it works, coz ONLY this worked for me.

On last note...
The TRUE supplements that work -

1. Creatine Monohydrate OR even better Carbo Creatine.
Taken with GLUCON-D , 15 mins before workout, will amaze you.

2. WHEY Protein. This is an absolute must if you want to see any kind of muscle growth. No Protein = No Muscle. Its as simple as that.

Have Fun!

Creatine is available across all major Chemist shops.
If you are in Delhi, one very good place is "GRAND SLAM" in GK2. Another one is "VINAYAK HOSPITAL" in Noida.

A 300 gm creatine would cost somewhere around 1000 Rs. Yeah thats costly, but then u take doses of only 5 gms each day!! (theres a loading phase & offloading phase) You will find the instructions on the DIBBA anyway.

Finally, make sure you go for the best brands, coz u have to be VERY sure when taking such things...
I would suggest CREAPURE and PROLAB.

Go ahead and make your day!
