time has come to hon'ble supreme court intervention on this matter of banning players who play for icl. who is bcci to ban players for playing for india? dinesh mongia is an indian citizen ;so too are the naidus and others. they cannot be denied opportunity to play for india, if they have got the skill. now, bcci tells supreme court that our national cricket team is not an indian team but a bcci team (it happened once)but the fact is our country is represented in all international matches;not bcci. every indian citizen has right to play for india. it cannot be denied by these b.....of bcci. i think the icl-indian players should move court.

remove all the tax breaks enjoyed by bcci as they themselves advocate that their team dont represent india.
BCCI is a privately registered firm. ICL is another one similar to BCCI. Even ICI is a private firm registered in UK. Obviously it is up-to BCCI's wish whom to hire and whom to fire. Neither govt nor the court can question them. May be the court/govt suggest or request BCCI to work with ICL to improve Indian cricket. If ICL wants to send their players to play international games, they can. But they don't have good terms with any of the international bodies (ICI or other). So, it is obvious that ICL player keep on playing matches between those 6 or 8 teams.
If ICL players are lucky, and if zee is able to make better money, their contracts get renewed. Other hand, if zee gets failed in getting sponsors, and fail in making money ICL gets closed, and their players end up nowhere. Ofcourse considering zee's profile and crazy on cricket in India, possibility for ICL gets closed is very less.
See Kerry Pakcers rebel cricket %u201Cworld series cricket" they closed in just 2 years, as they were running out of money. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Series_Cricket
May be once ICL gets closed (possibility is minute), BCCI will announce that they have no issues with those players and they still can eligible to get selected for team India. But the selectors never going to select them.

The point is, privately registered firm BCCI can of course decide whom to hire for their services, but they haven't got the monopolistic right to select the National or or Regional teams as there is already an equivalent body ICL, The Ministry of Sports will have to step in, form a seperate committee from both and beyond, so that the National team is always the best NATIONAL TEAM, not a BCCI team.

This is a real good observation. But seeing that the chances of failure are almost nil, I can safely say that this league will continue like the county cricket promoting tallent. BCCI is not the sole authority to decide who represents the nation. If the oposite party wants to play ICL there is nothing the BCCI can do about it.

Hi yes BCCI is a private firm but it does not have right to say or ban the cricketers from playing internation cricket only because they belong to a league diffrent then BCCI BCCI should see this positively and start competing which they have not done for years
time has come for a change . these cricketers like great kapil dev should be given public support for their effort to encourage the sport , instead bcci should be sacked for its autocratic style , why should paralysed politician command the game , they will paralyse the entire game
If BCCI is banning players of ICL, which BCCI say that rebel players, how can they include players who are playing for English county (which is not a part of BCCI)? If they allow their players to play for county, they should allow them to play for other organisations like ICL also. This BCCI move won't improve indian cricket.
