It is a known fact that none can replace the versatile singer that Rafisaab had during his lifespan innings of 35 years with the music industry.
Though tribute is paid to him on a regular basis when the radio/tv staions play his solo duets, I don't think paying him a tribute only on 31st July every year is necessary.
The money making racket piracy taking place in today's music industry does not seem to end. All the concerned are busy filling up their pockets at the expense of these gentlemen. Example : Thankfully, (unfortunately) great singers like Rafi, Kishore, Mukesh etc. are no more in our midst. But literally speaking, if they were alive today, and would have seen and heard for themselves the gross amount of piracy, the negligence and mis-use being done of their voices in the form of remixes, I am sure they would have taken the music industry, and downed their shutters long time ago

Ya you are almost right. If people make money on behalf of famous singer than let them be. Because Singers like Rafi, Mukesh and Kishorkumar are like invinsible and nothing done to their music affects them. So you might wana chill and enjoy both Old and new music.
Aisa insaan jise bhagawan ne di thi ek jadubhari awaz jo logon ke dil mein hamesha ke liye bas gayee.
Shayad hi koi unhe bhool payega.
Bahut hi bura lagata hai jab koi naya singer unaki nakal karata hai.
Unki jagah lena to namumkin hai.
Kisi bhi mijaaj ke koi bhi kalakaar ge gaane voh bahut hi khubsoorat dhang se aur aasani se ga lete the... classical, western style ho ya dard bhara, khushi ka gaana ho..
Rafida ko mera shatpranam aur bhavpurna shraddhanjali..
There are many songs he was simply superb like the duet with Lata Mangeshkar 'Tasvir teri dil me jis din se utari hai Naye Naye rang leke This song is on so high pitch that one can note with clarity Lata Mangeshkar's voice shrieks.
Take for instance another song from Shammi Kapoor Kashmir Ki Kali " Yeh chand sa Roshan chehra ,Zulfon ka rang sunehra, Tarif karoon kya uski jisne tumhe banaya In this Song if you note word Tarif has been sung in 27 times in different tones.
Can any one of the Singers match such Verstality? Vijay Dhar New Delhi
Undoubtedly the GREATEST singer till date in Indian Cinema. No other singer comes anywhere close to the range of Rafisaab. In today's times when mere remixes and clones have flooded the market, it's Rafisaab's voice which stands out. Rafisaab rendered all kinds of songs with his gifted voice, be it classical songs in "Baiju Baawara", romantic melodies for Shankar-Jaikishan in 60-70s, comedy centered songs for Gurudatt/Johny Walker. All. Even later with R.D.Burman in late 70s and 80s with gems like "Chaand Mera Dil...". Even now it gives goose bumps when you listen to that song from Rafisaab. Tribute from the core of our heart to the King of Indian music.
I am in my thirtees and I cherish evry single word that came off Rafisaab's throat in his unforgrttable songs. It is impossible to name a song, the least is it could be done for each category - fav comic, fav bhajan, ghazal, immortal love song, qawwali (I love filmi qawwalis by him), fav sad song and what not particularly the ones without much music in them.
I heard and read about him being a very noble and simple human being. May god rest his soul in peace. He gave joy to many.
Undoubtedly one of our all time great playback singers unmatched in style, humility and elegance. He is very much alive and surely we miss his physical presence, but we can altleast listen to his innumerable hit songs everyday. A legend in classical and film music.
