pathan is only picked hoping he would perform like the bowler he has been and the batsmen he is. But for his form he is not there yet. But I feel he should be picked cos he is a good talent to have.
For now I dont even see him in the playing 11 though.

hey frnd u r missing a trick here to win.u need pathan somewhere coz he can b very handy with bat n u knw the pitches will b with low bounce n pace so keep pathan in 11 in palce of sehwag who is playing as an allrounder now.

then why didn't they pick him before this match? He onlyt showed his weeknesses in this match so why pick him after this match when you expected to play him well? Do selectors and pathan supporters think the rest are fool?

What abt agarkar? He is not a 6-feet broad shouldered hunk, but he is not only a better bowler and fielder than pathan but also a better batter if Mr azzar had given him the chances that dravid had given pathan.

Agreed agarkar's case is unfortunate.But why blameit on Irfan?Why not give him a chance?why repeating the mistakes once carried out with agarkar.Do you want to create another Agarkar?You have to instill confidence in your youngsters&boost their morale.Great players are not made in a day.You have to groom thes talented youngsters for that. Rightly said""If you consider fielding as priority,I don't know where to put Sehwag.He show some "unbelievable"acrobatics till he got selected..after that???Well I don't think one will get a second chance to see a replay of that glorious run out in the last ODI in any form of cricket, not even in a school tournament!!!""

Better Bowler yes, better fielder yes but not a better batsman. agarkar is hopeless as a batsman and Pathan is almost good enough to be a top order batsman. Irfan Pathan the batsman is only slightly inferior to dinesh Karthick; not much of a difference!

also agarkar holds the record of fastest 50 by an indian..as a bastmen in 22 balls...and io have seen him swing couple of matches with the bat...and win (let me know if you need details, top of the head i remembre one mtach he made 26 in 12 balls against sri lanka ...while we were chasing..and hit winning runs just in time) so may be he has the potential but has not lived upto expectations ...may be he was not handled better..bu team Having said that i agree irfan patahn better batsman...but just that agarkar is not 'hopeless' as far as batting is concered... and certainly better than rest of the bowlers
