The whole thing seems un-warranted. Chappel is a great crcicketer. He belongs to a family of great cricketers. He doesn't need any certificate from anyone to prove his cricketing brain/skills. He has tried his best. He questioned about the attitude of some of the senior and important players, which is nothing wrong, and a Coach has a right to question like this. Our main/senior players didn't perform and therefore we had to come out from the first round itself. Westeners have the habit of calling a spade a spade, and mean business in all seriousness, which may not be digestable to Indian players. What positive service Mr.Gavaskar has done sofar to the Indian cricket? I respect Sunny for his cricketing ability, but this outburst against Chappel doesn't look good for a person of Sunny's stature.

yes nothing wrong in that but what about his own attitude, for from the time he came all he did was put player against player and reign over the internal strife's

Iyer,
Think .. what Chappel did to Indian cricket. He divided the team .. he destrcuted out reputation and made us exit out of the world cup. He is the single most reason we failed. The thing is not warranted. I was waiting for someone to come out so openly and only Sunny has the guts to do so.

Mr Desh Videsh,
I think sunny is a big mouth who just hates Aussies(well we all do to some extent). My problem is that Sunny has not done anything for Indian cricket other than registering his own name in the recordbooks. He has been wrongly elevetaed to the stature of demi-god of cricket. I think you need to revisit Sunny's own performance. He always played for himself, not for country. Remember the world cup semi-final with England when he got out of the 3rd ball of the match and Kapil struggled hard to save the game but could not. It looked like if the match was fixed, and I wouldn't wonder if Sunny fixed matches, and tradition is still continuing. Why do we not want to accept our system so called Cricket Mafia, BCCI and Senior players who don't want to stop earning money (read don't want to retire) at the cost of breaking billion hearts. The way team played in this world cup was so embarassing, it looked like they were scared to touch the ball (except against poor Bermuda). I think coach's failure was only 10%. Rest of the blame should be attributed to - Fitness of the players. Poor fielding Lack of bouncy pitches in India (What is BCCO doing with millions of dollars?) Inexperience of Dravid as captain
