Leave alone fighting Jihad, most Hindus particularly the intellectuals do not have a perception of Jihad or Islamic radicalism. The fault partly lies with Hindu religion itself which teachs ALL religions are paths to God..therefore the concept of 'fighting' for God or dying for him is practically unknown. Furthermore Hindus tend to think all religions are inherently good and no religion teaches hatred or violence. Hindus have been unable to stop Ghazni's 17 raids to India- that is unexcusable...by the same token Islam could never get a foothold in Europe except for a part of Spain..Spaniards however threw it out even after 500 years. Today Islamic radicalism sneaked into Europe & N America by taking advantage of a liberalized secular society and democracy. The difference between India and the West lies in the fact that the west particularly America learnt very fast..being descendants of pirates and Crusading fanatics themselves, they are now up to mark and can match Islamic terror with terror. deep research and nit picking has now educated western world quite well on Islamic radicalism. Same cannot be said of Indians at all. If anything India's intellectuals appear stupid and dont get it at all.

weak post with naive comments. Firstly the concept of jihad is itself an issue with the majority of people fail to understand. Jihad in Islam is not about killing innocent people but srtiving with oneslef to become a better person. A concept that is the landmark of self improvement and humanity. Actions of misguided muslims must not be equated with Islamic trachings, doing it is a sign of ignorance and mischief. India is a great country and hindus and muslims have lived here as brothers and this bond will defeat all tryes of extremism and terrorism.

Well True tell that to the terrorists who have blasted the WTC, caused deaths in various counslates, killed people in Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Jaipur. Who is responsible, what did India do to any of these people, it was trying to prosper making people prosperous, do you even know that in the entire world, india is the only country that has highest per capita income for muslims, not even there in pakistan.

there is no fault with the religion or its followers ... we are tolerant, not weak.

What type of reputation U are talking of.What about genocide done during Babri demolition,Bhagalpur riots,Merrut riots,Gujrat genocide,Bhiwandi riots,Mumbai genocide and so many pograms done by Hindus in collaboration with state administration,police,judiciary.
