I am shocked that people are talking like an illiterate and blaming Fiona. Yes, it's true that no one would ideally allow anyone to roam around till 3.00 am near any beach or even on the street, however, the question here is on injustice done to Scarlett and not the precautions that, if taken by her mother, would have saved her life. Yes, I agree that precautions should be taken by parents and in the present day world each citizen should be responsible for his or her own life, however, if something wrong is done, then, justice should be done rather than giving a new turn to the case by blaming her mother or looking for excuses in other cases.
What's going on guys? India is a free county but eventually that's not the fact and neither does every one get's the justice. You open news channel and news are about rape, teacher beating small childrens brutally, guys burning a 6 year old child just because his bycycle was hit by a Qualis?

Not all parent do. I live near the rural heartland of Punjab. Our "modern" society is so bad these days that parents are afraid to discipline kids.

Buddy, I agree with the fact that her mother should have taken more precaution but my concern here is why is the Goa police turning the case towards the direction where the criminal will be safe. Blaming her mother is not the justice. What has happened....has happened....Atleast, get justice for her mother and family. You know what, it's not the GOA police but the Indian police itself will keep their mouth shut at times when justice is really required. And I don't drink gaanja like you.

In an NDTV chat (we the people) a minister from Goa has appreciated the police who had arrested the rapist Julio & Samsung. The case is solved for them.

Stop commenting on Fiona, she trusted Indian community and lost her daughter. Many of cases like this may have occured for families who are overseas. If one can't support someone or doesn't have the courage to do the same then keep quite. Arresting the criminal is not the only thing one should do in the present day world, set an example so that others should not do it again but not by killing or torturing someone even though he is the culprit. Kill the crime but at the same time blaming her mother is not the justice. As far as your arrest of the criminal is concerned, once police gets money, under one or the other section, criminal will be released and probably the beginning of another Scarlett's case.....I hope this doesn't happen though.

We need a change in the law..... A law that may not only give justice to everyone but avoid crimes.
