Pl read the book completely. You are dawing hasty conclusions by reading just one para.
I have no quarrels with the believers for I know for sure that it is like a "crutch" for them. However no religion is better than the other.
Pl visit the web of "ACtual Freedom - the third alternative" This an alternative to organized religions and do not have the rigidity of atheism. It will also enrich your knowledge about the reasons for some of the human behaviour.

NO NEED YOU GOT WRONG. WHEN YOU DON'T BELIVE GOD THEN YOU CAN'T UNDERSTAND HIS EXSISTANCE. ONE BOOK WILL TAKE YOU NEAR TO THE GOD AND OTHER BOOK WILL TAKE YOU AWAY FROM HIM. IT IS YOUR FREE WILL WHICH BOOK YOU CHOOSE. AND AT THE END OF LIFE RELAITY WILL STAND IN FRONT OF EVERONE. WHAT WAS RIGHT?
IF YOU BELIVE EXISTANCE OF GOD THERE IS NO HARM.
BUT IF YOU DENY ESISTANCE OF GOD THERE IS HARM TO YOU. WHAT IF YOU WILL COME TO KNOW AT THE POINT OF DEATH THERE IS SUPERPOWER, CONTROLLER OR GOD.

Your type of persons are called "agnostics" who have a doubt whether god exists or not. As I have mentioned above, it is the indivdual's choice to beleive or not.
Believe in yourself. Believe in the principles of neo-humanism. Believe in the basic goodness of all humanbeings. You are not inferior to a person who lived hundreds of years back and there is no need in somethng written in a book thousands of years back. Use your own judgement.
