What's the harm with this condition?
by Punepro on Jul 31, 2008 01:14 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

This is a typical supplier's agreement where a supplier of a product / service / technology tells the buyer to abide by certain conditions failing which he will stop the supply. Perfectly fine! Some day if India feels they need to test, they can decide what to do about the Uranium supply from the NSG countries. Some day if India is able to build enough Thorium based plants, it can always walk away from this deal. Good sense on part of MMS.

Yes. You are right. The Commies and the chaddi gang are regressive in their attitude. rather than building a stronger India, they want to build a mob frenzy. It's simple... when people question them on lack of development in India, they blame it all on Congress and when Congress wants to do some development work, they put spokes in the wheel. Not that Congress has done everything right. They have a dirty backyard too. However, they realized the importance of moving away from rhetoric to development and one appreciates MMS for his vision. Good show MMS!

Hmm.. you do have a point. I never thought it this way. I was always believing what the opposition had been saying. My company is on the verge of signing an agreement with a large European company where they will supply a particular technology to us. It's a 700 page agreement and now I am able to understand what you are saying. I guess I was wrong in believing the opposition parties.

Then why does India not sign the CTBT ? The nation could walk out of the CTBT also suffering the same consequences that we would suffer if we walked out of the N-deal !

If you want out of CTBT, there is a penalty on you. You cannot walk out of treaties. Whereas this is a supplier's agreement and either party is free to call it off if it bbecomes unbearable. This is NOT a treaty. This is a deal / agreement.

Then why not a national poll (of intellectuals at least) on this deal rather than a poll of foolish leaders who took crores and voted without knowing anything about the deal.
