The Left deserves to be congratulated on sticking to their stand even at the cost of alienating the UPA government. Which other political formation ever gave up political power on a policy issue ? Without the Left opposition there would not have been any parliamentary discussion on the nuclear deal. Now for whatever it is worth we have Manmohan Singh's categorical assurances on the floor of the Parliament regarding independence of foreign policy, Iran-Iraq etc. It would be interesting though to see how his statements regarding the Hyde act would play out in the US congress.

I come from West Bengal and I feel ashamed as how such a "rich" state fell into the communist prey for years! Even the youth doesnt understand this! I was lucky that I moved out of WB when I was just 3, else perhaps, I wud have also grown to love the bluddy Commiess!!!
I urge atleast to the youth of Bengal to be forward oriented, chuck the commies for a better India!!!

What principles of Left are you talking about - aligning with Maya - is that principled ? And what is the new Common Minimum Program for the Left now along with Maya - Defeat the Govt.? So since when has being destructive become principled?
