It is not a matter of emotions. We need tremendous amount of fuel just to meet our bare needs. Hence all non-greenhouse fuels to be used. For this Uranium fuel required. No point in cursing somebody. We did not invent physics. Physics we aquired from the west. If we need to live well we need their Uranium. Manmohan is perfectly right in signing this treaty. Even chinese have signed.

You said Chinese signed. But please note they have done only after incorporating their terms and condtitions in the treaty. Hence, they are not bind by the U.S. Rules or the rules of any other countries whereas if we accept the draft agreement "as is" it will be a sell-out. We will have no control on our atomic energy programmes. Our scientis will have no freedom for experimenting. They will have to follow whatever U.S. Nuke Corporate bodies dictate them

Thanks to bold poliocy of NDA government on nuclear tests, we have reached the position that we can sign nuclear protocols. Had Narsingha Rao government carried out the nuclear test as planned, we would have been in the same bargaining position as the Chinese. But even now it is not too late, and the draft protocol, that is being opposed by the safrons and the reds, in no way encroaches upon our sovereignity. Safrons do not want it because they will not get any credit, and the reds have inbuilt hatred of any thing or process that is progressive. They survive by keeping India backwards.

Its a great question. But you need to understand first that ENERGY SAVED IS ENERGY PRODUCED. We need to harness all source of Energy such as Solar Energy, Wind Energy etc. and the good relationship with USA & G8 Countries would stand in good stead. Because most of the research are done in these developed countries only. We Indians know to waste , talk nonsense & criticize all that good or not-Indian. And another thing we Indians think we know too much as OUR POLITICIANS LIKE LK ADVANI, PRAKASH KARAT AND LIKE THINK. So exercise your brain power-after all we are not duffer and any day better than those petty politicians.

whole world is going for solar enegry, wind energy, hydro energy, bio gas, all other sources/.. and by god grace.. we had all the resources.. but still our govt ignoring ir...
do u know india is 4th in world for producing wind energy.. but in solar energy we are not even in top 20 why???
in hydro we are not even in top 15 even we had longest see cost of 3000 km...
we have highest number of cattle and for bio gas in rural india its great opportunity.. how many bio gas plant u had seen in rural india??
is it not wotrth to invest???
today we are getting 65% from thermal energy, 25% from hydro energy 3% from nuclear energy.. and 7 % other natural resources...
now u tell me that why should not we look for hydro, solar and wind energy.. its not useful..
the best advantage of this resources is.. they can setup in small unit in rural india like for 1000 house or few small SSI... and with less cost and by corporate and public support it can change india..
u go to wikipedia and check how many solar and wind farm USA is building... they are approved 800 farm in next 5 yrs ... and we are going for nuclear even we have resources???

Boss, just check the cost of the pasrt satisfactions.... Do u know that US will charge the fee for inspection of IAEA which cost more than 700 crore dollors per year. Just for monitoring that's it and it cost may go up. That's why US is more interested in the project and our Netas (specially congresse dalal)have very good shares/commisions in it.

Get your facts right. Who said nuclear power generation in the West is waning because of uranium depletion? Look at France, Britain, Japan - all building more plants. Where is the uranium depletion? They have not even scratched the surface of the vast uranium resources of Australia, Canada, Russia.
