Thanks to bold poliocy of NDA government on nuclear tests, we have reached the position that we can sign nuclear protocols. Had Narsingha Rao government carried out the nuclear test as planned, we would have been in the same bargaining position as the Chinese. But even now it is not too late, and the draft protocol, that is being opposed by the safrons and the reds, in no way encroaches upon our sovereignity. Safrons do not want it because they will not get any credit, and the reds have inbuilt hatred of any thing or process that is progressive. They survive by keeping India backwards.
