Independent MP Nagpal will vote with BJP
by jamsheed abumohammed on Jul 17, 2008 06:51 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

What an irony, till yesterday Mr.Nagpal,Indpendent MP was independent but today he is different. He decided to vote against the Govt for "they failed on all fronts". Addressing a press conference with BJP Naidu, Nagpal said that Congress has not offered him any money. Was that the sole reason to move to BJP. Nobody asked a question whether BJP offered him anything. Why suddenly he discovered love for BJP and decided to vote with them? It is for him to answer. What is clear here that BJP is trying hard to bring to its fold as many MPs to its fold as possible to vote against UPA.It shows its nervousness and lack of self confidence. All indications are that it is sure to lose and there would be cross votings by those who have faith in secularism. It is possible that even Communists who are under pressure may abstain from voting to save the face of not voting along with BJP. Somnath anger was precisely about this stand of the CPI(M). Karat has played a dangerous game and even a seasoned politician like Yechury distance himself from such a move. There is crack in the rank and file of the Left parties. Take the case of Mr. Basu, a Communist Veteran, even at this advanced age of 95 cautioned Karat and advised him to go slow in the matter. He stood his ground and found himself isolated in his own party. Why then he has skipped Bengal from the itinery? The dissent has started in his own party and tide would turn against him fully if he decides to vote with BJP in the Trust vote.

yes jamsheed the BJP having won 130 seats during last election should sit quietly at the Parliament and they did not have any moral right to act as an opposition party simply because they are not adapt to the "secularism" being practiced by other political parties in the country. Who are they to reflect the sentiments of another section of voters in the country. All should follow the "secular" concept propounded by Congress, Lefts and other regional parties and must keep BJP, which is bold enough to raise its voice for majority community in the country.
Further, I do suspect that Karat might have fallen victim to ideologies of BJP simply because he was given more powers to take decisions on his own. He should also have been made as a puppet. But it is too late.
Hope my views also as confusing as yours bu at the same time hitting out at BJP without sense or any reason

He may have compared the money offered to Goa BJP MLA's by congress with the money offered to him now and found to be negligible.
No worries, our great economist will give more soaps soon to him.
