Article is WRONG
by manoo kaushal on Jul 14, 2008 08:05 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

WRONG! This deal could have been much better than this one.
Manmohan failed to bargain properly.
The deal is titled towards USA, and we are nothing more an appendage.
And also, there appears no real need to go for the deal with such a haste.
Why did Manmohan shy away from debate ?
Why are scientists against deal ?(Most retired scientists are against it .
manmohan said Bush is the most pro- India president

But Manmohan Singh was busy bargaining support of CPI. How can he bargain his best when his supporters were betraying him

Beggers are not choosers.. So first better understand where are you coming from. We can't dictate terms to Pak and B'Desh and you are dreaming about dicating terms to US..

I think on issues like the nuclear deal we should have a national consensus. If a large section is opposing the deal there must be something which needs a think over. All american parties seem to be in favor of the deal so it must be more beneficial to them than us.

You said it right, Beggers can not be choosers. Last time i visited india - i gave 1 rupee change to a begger - while boarding a rikshaw. He promptly gave it back to me saying, "sir please buy something for your kids with this."
While your statement is true in general, its not true for Indian beggers! And nation is build of the people. If India is a begger then its made of beggers - and spirit has to maintained. 'nuph said!

ROY.. looser don't make history it's only the winner whose name is engraved into the wall. Ask your self how much dignified you are. It easy to make hue and cry about anything but it needs guts to face the reality.
You must be living in a city but have you ever been to a village and saw the living condition of poor countrymen?NO, you know why ppl like you can just enjoy beating around the bush and nothing else. We need what we need and to get that you we have to take some bold steps.
More the risk, more the benefit. Other wise live like a dog by depending on others for every pie.

Arent you being ridiculous? Do you think that remote villages shall be supplied with electricity from nuclear energy as soon as the deal is done? All statistics on costing and infrastructure required state that the nuclear energy would be able to solve our requirement by about 6-8% by the end of the century. Would this 6-8% be for the remote rural India or for the ever-hungry ever-expanding urban India? Get your priorities right. The deal isnt going to solve any of the problems that U may have in mind. No poor countrymen that U speak of in rural areas are going to benefit very soon. So instead of rushing for whatever li'l piece of bone is thrown at U by the US and the West, try to assert your will and wish. It may not give you anything, but remember .... neither does deal........ esp for the reasons that u r supporting it for.
