Are we a cultured & educated people
by madhu d on Jan 15, 2008 08:42 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

sir, it is sad to know that people are on hunger strike. but what have honorable suprem court has done is right. i would like to ask all the people, you say you are educated & you are working in various MNC's taking good salary and act to smart. but why you want to ill treat these animals. you know when these animals run you think that it is running for fun but you should know that because of fear it run like any thing and for you fun sake you would tourtier the animal. before the animal is made to run, i do not know what thinks would have done to the animals. at least once why dont you make your children run like bull and let all the people try to do what they do for bull. so be cultured and have some respect to the animals & let us not hurt the feelings of the animals. imagine if animals would have the capacity to talk & do think it would have allowed you to do it. i do not say we should leave our tradition, but thinks are changing and we are getting modernised, atleast in these passion we will change our self, at leaset we will have some respect to the animsl and nature. i think if they are vanished then the whole world is going to destroy.
by expressing my view, if i had hurt any bodys feeling i am sorry for it and i am expressing my view. so thanks and happy pongal to all and try to save the animals & do not put them in cruality.

Madhu - If these bulls could speak and talk, they would do better job than your incoherent rant. Who told you traditions should be thrown out into garbage can? Doing so will only make you holding garbage in your hand, because the can is filled with tradition!

Madhu:

You are somewhat right. Jalli-kattu WAS a dignified sport originally. It was a sign of bravery where a few brave men tried to tame bulls. But TODAY, a few thousand morons chase one bull pulling its tail, scaring it by blocking the narrow pathway and at least 6-8 so-called brave MEN cling to the poor animal trying to pull it down. How is this bravery? Shouldn't it be one-on-one. It just shows how tribal and animists these folks are. The supreme court is right in blocking it and the way out to maintain "tradition" would be for the government to set proper rules on taming the bulls and not let more than on individual to tame a bull.
