Who knows it is actually Mr. Qureshi, anyone can assume any name on email to prove a point and its quite common I may not be asadullah but Rahul Sen or U may not be rehana but Gurmeet Singh

Dear Rehana Khan, unfortunately a good majority of your co-religionists are the type of Mr. Kureshi.
Btw I have read 2 versions (English translations) of The Koran and know for sure what its contents are. Most muslims are liberal only because they are not following what is written in The Koran (not due to the contents of the same)!

Dear JGN what you have quoted is a verse from the Holy Quran i.e. word from Allh and not from prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Yes, it is correct and it catagorically asks Muslims not to complel anyone to embrace Islam. any Muslim who does not obey this is a sinner. Now your second point it is unfair generalisation by you that world wide Muslims are madly fighting to compel non believers accept Islam on the instructions of Mullahs (those who are really doing this are wrong) but a great Mejority is fighting against occupation, aggression, and voilation of thier rights like in Iraque, Pelestine, Afghanistan, Chechenia etc. because as a human principal Islam does allow its followers to defend themselves as well as others against such things and defence as you know also includes pre emptive striks on legetimate targets.

Dear Usmani, What you are saying is in short the right of existance & every living species try to defend their existance in every possible way in their capacity. So there is nothing special if the same thing is written in the holy book. Even if it had been not written, every human being, who is muslim today, still would have defended his right of existance. The problem is you are using this interpretation to mobilise people in your religion for the objective of mass terrorism & to hijack the rest of the society.

Usmani, how do you explain the verse- 9:5: "Then, when the sacred months have passed, slay the idolaters wherever ye find them, and take them (captive), and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush. But if they repent and establish worship and pay the poor-due, then leave their way free. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful."
Btw, this verse was revealed after Mecca was invaded by mohammad and meccans did not offer any resistence...
For all those who dont know, this verse was revealed, when mohammad ordered all pagan meccans to accept islam or face death...he granted them four months to decide their fate. After which they would face death if they did not convert. This contradicts 2:256: "There is no compulsion in religion. The right direction is henceforth distinct from error. And he who rejecteth false deities and believeth in Allah hath grasped a firm handhold which will never break. Allah is Hearer, Knower."
Becoz this verse was revealed by mohammad when he was weak millitarily compared to pagans.

Dear asadullah usmani, there cannot be any words from Allah. Allah had no wireless technology to communicate with Mohammed. The Koran was the concoction of Mohammed to motivate his followers (with all those rewards in heaven or curel punishments in hell, etc). He was a tribal leader trying to establish his rule and had to resort to whatever had been said in The Koran and was applicable to 7th Century Arabia. You cannot replicate that in 21st century anywhere in the world.
In today's wrold, driven by science and technology, the religions and so-called holy books have lost their relevance. Believe in yourself. You are not inferior to somebody who lived hundreds of years back nor are bound to follow what has been written in a book hundreds of years back.

Your initial question was far less philosohical than your present response, which has totally drifted from the core issue that u raised and the question that u asked. please re read your initial question read my reply, introspect and then decide if you have got the answer or not . But rather than doing that u are starting a meaningless debate which u also no is waste of time. If you are really serious let it reflect. other wise"your way is for u and mine for me".

When we say Muslims should enlighten their progeny to live amicably in India as like other communities also.....some one was demanding a pardon....that is the extent of pressurising and emotional black mail.
The need of the hour is STOP MUCKING UP HUMANITY IN THE NAME OF RELIGIONS.....AND GODS. NO GOD EVER WROTE A DOCUMENT WHICH ARE USED AS ULTIMATE AUTHORITY. NO GOD USED A PA SYSTEM AND ANNOUNCED TO THE PRIMITIVE MAN ABOUT THE PRECEPTS OF ANY RELIGION !!!

Dear JGN, Very good statements to explain your point of view. I strongly doubt that Ismail Sayyed / Contractor is now using name of asadullah usmani to fool the members. Otherwise how different members can express the same thought again & again in similar words?

If everyone is free to practice their religion as you say then why did prophet Mohammad destroy the religion of the Arabs and their idols?
