Everyone will agree that Maharashtra is still one of the most cosmopolitan states in the country. It was openness of these marathis that let it happen. Now, one needs to seriuosly see what went wrong then. It was, acoording to me, the intentional efforts of North indians to overpower the locals under the name of Chhat Puja. If they would continue to co-exist, there wouldn't be any issue. It's a power game, as everyone is saying. And silencing Raj is not going to solve the issue. The issue is really serious as every Mumbaikar knows it. It's time that there should be some guidlines / code ( not law ) to address this issue in real sense to avoid such incidences in future. Because survival and prosperity of Mumbai is critical for India's future.

Superb reply sir! Ask him also that how much years it woudl take a person to become a mumbaiker or Indian? By rule of India it takes 5 years to become Indian citizen and my rule of nature it takes just a moment to become child of someone! They are hack beck but never agree that they have done idiocity and did a sin against the national integrity. Mumbai is not special and the problem is not unique to Mumbai but everywhere where is job. According to him, then all Indians shoudl be thrown out from abroad back to India and globalization of business hould be banned...if Raj thackray woud have really some wisdom he would not have been a 8th drop out..and more over if marathis would have wisdom they would not have committed such crime on the fingerpoint of this uneducated idiot! One by one they themselves are surpassing their idicoty and still unable to recognize it and apologize and improve.

I think garba and dandiya are very popular in Mumbai and again these are celebrated on much bigger scale than chath puja. Then why not you feel that Gujratees are trying to dominate you. Also, are they saying that don't celebrate Ganesh puja which is primarly celebrated in Maharashtra?
If any state want to develop then you have to understand other faiths. Visit, London Heathrow airport and you will find prayer room for all faith.

This is something very subjective - One can feel and smell the intentions when a line is crossed. Afterall there has to be something which led to so much of resentment and anger amongst the localites. I don't think they ( Gujarathis ever wanted to dominate but rather co-exist, and they are enjoying the fruits of the same. I don't think that anybody needs to teach Maharashtrians about how to understand other faiths, that's the part of their philosophy. Truth is alwyas bitter and people have tendency to not accept it - that's what is happening with everybody - Everybody needs to realise that there is serious issue in this and need to address with due respect to localites.

You are right. Marathi is only a shortened form for 'mahaaraashtrian', meaning alliegence to the 'great country', that is hindusthan or bharat maata. Raj and Uddhav should remind themselves of this. They should not show themselves as less nationalistic compared to the really moslem-votebank-based anti-national so-called leaders like mulayam, laalu and paswan, in whose parties, the second-rung leaders are only moslems, bringing islamic funds from countries inimical to india. Obvious from the name of 'Azmi', leader of mulayam's salam-vadi party, also arrested and released on bail.
