It should be the other way round

Had Pakistan emulated the Indian Army, Its army would have been plagued with ageing equipment, rampant corruption & lac of competent officers to lead it.

This is not to cast aspersions on the bravery of the Indian soldiers who have proved time & again that they are among the best in the world, ever ready to make the biggest sacrifice for our motherland.

My heart weeps when I see the videos of the martyrs' families struggling to make the ends meet. The army gives a martyr's family less than what an IT professional earns in a year.

I pray to the Indian government do something towards making their life less miserable. We can start with giving them 4 times the salary they are getting now. After all, a soldier's contribution cannot be inferior to the contributions of IT professionals & Bankers for our country.

We can do our jobs, businesses & studies only because they protect us.

JAI HIND

Please go and tell this to the bereaved families who struggle to make ends meet. Every soldiers life must be valued/insured, monetary well-being of the amry-men should be one of our paramount concerns. You are right in one sense, human life cannot be assigned a number, the service that these brave men and women provide should not be trivialized with the monetary aspect, but life is not always based on golden philosophies. Is it?

Pakistan's biggest problem is corruption of Army officers as well as the incompetence of their officers, their officers are "elite" and removed from their troops, they lead troops from the back and never have any casualties as they are never in the action. So on all these grounds the Pakistani Army is worse off and no amount of modernaisation will help them till they deal with this.

Man - after reading you post I am now CONVINCED that there is NO corruption in the Indian army... ha ha ha. Heard about Ketchup medals, arms scandals and even top officers opposing n' blaming each other in media ? Read about army officers barging into discotheques and misbehaving with women in Kolkata and when the cops take action, the army comes and smashes the cop stations ? Naaaah - the army is the holy cow. Nothing can ever be done wrong by them. Ask the women in Kasmir and Assam who have been raped by the Indian army and then their bodies mutilated. They will tell you that its the Indian army's presence which is a problem not anything else. But why will you guys understand that. Sitting in far away ivory towers in distant lands and shouting pseudo nationalistic stuff - nothing could be further from reality for you guys. lagey raho - today its someone else facing problems, tomorrow it could very well be yours.Till then... enjoy shouting these pseudo patriotic statements.
