Maulana Azads soul-stirring speech (1940) put it, I am a Muslim and proud of the fact. I am indispensable to this noble edifice. Without me this splendid structure of India is incomplete. Everything bears the stamp of our joint endeavour. Our languages were different, but we grew to use a common language. Our manners and customs were different, but they produced a new synthesis... no fantasy or artificial scheming to separate and divide can break this unity.

@spg
vivekananda did say what hakeem said. so go do some reading.
Hakeem u hav read and read well congrats.
But I dont agree Entirely to wht u said.

All of us Know the Single Most Resistance against Caste System was done by Gautam Buddha.
The same Vivekananda, Ambedkar, Sitaram Goel and Other Eminent Historians said that
" It is Islam which Destroyed the Religion of Buddha in India and wherever it went"
Best example is the recent destruction of Bamiyan Buddha's and joy of Talibans in doing so.

Therefor even though conversion to Islam brought 'equality' to masses of India, it took away from them the culture, art and science . please look at the kind of lives Afghans and pashtuns are leading now and before when they were Buddhists.

Add in addition to all these the cross culture patriotism. A most sincere Muslim also respects adores Arabic culture bcoz its in his religion.

The result of which is the two nation theory and partition and massacres associated with it.

So all me to say Islam ig good and Not Best.

And there are Better Alternatives to combat caste inequalities.

Dharmam Sharanam Gacchami
Sangham Sharanam Gacchami

In a way Islam did because of the freshness that it provided to the downtrodden masses of those times it indeed did destroy those existing systems in those countries- Beacause people left those systems and embraced Islam.

If you study the history of buddhism you will find more bloody dynastys that supported buddhism as state religion that otherwise! Read the history of dynastys in China that patronaged Buddhism! Read why Bhuddhism came into existence--- Read The TANTRIK system of the Hindu Priest that exists till today in one form or other!

And above everything else The Prophet of Islam never said that He came with a New Religion- Quran Says that It is a REMINDER to people!----A REMINDER....He came to call people back to the TRUE religion of the Rehmaan- To remind people that their origins are one and that none of them is superior to the other based on color, caste aor nationality except by Piety (God Conciousness and Good Chracter).

Wa ma arsalnaka illa rahmata lil alameen: We have sent you not, but as a Mercy to the whole of Mankind. He was the seal of the prophets after which no prophet would rise among its people.

And Clintons Advisor on foreign Policy stated that There is no Religion Extant in the World today that has the Vibrancy to stop the course of American foreign policy but ISLAM! AND so begins the War on Terror aka War on Islam ;)

But they didnot know this:

PICKTHAL: Lo! those who disbelieve spend their wealth in order that they may debar (men)

PICKTHAL: Lo! those who disbelieve spend their wealth in order that they may debar (men) from the way of Allah. They will spend it, then it will become an anguish for them, then they will be conquered

But Allah is Ar-Rehman, Most Gracious Most Merciful: Oft returning in Mercy to those who repent sincerely!

PICKTHAL: Tell those who disbelieve that if they cease (from persecution of believers) that which is past will be forgiven them; but if they return (thereto) then the example of the men of old hath already gone (before them, for a warning).

Taliban is not Islam, it is madness of few fundamentalists who wants to earn money and power.

Islam has born against such fundamentalist.

Please see english movie based on formation of Islam. Name of Movie " The Message".

Islam is not religion per say. it is practice and act of human beings toward humanity.

Quran has praised to all prophets happen till Mohammad. It gives message of equality of all humankinds ( man, woman, child, animal, plants and every living things in universe).

I never seen any religion has been created to kill someone or to capture power.

There is no conclusive evidence for the existence of any god. The so-called holy books are creations of surrealistic visionaries and are no more serious than Gulliver's Travels or Aesop's Fables. The Islamic Paradise existed only in the fertile imagination of Moahmmed (and the equivalent of Paradise of other religons existed in the imaginations of the likes of Mohammed of their respective religions).

There is no soul, no re-birth and absolutely no last judgement. Every thing ends here. So enjoy life on planet earth. Don't harm others in the name of non-existent gods and imaginary rewards in the "Paradise" here-after

Do you have any evidence to prove that there is no God? The very fact that every soul has an inclination to identify the somethin superior and attribute the creation to him is evidence enough that there is God. All those who say there is no God - listen to this clearly - if you at anytime are confronted with certain death, you will shriek out in despair and anxiety for help from the supreme creator who is one and only one and omniscient and omnipresent. Stop saying there is no God - there is no doubt that there is One Creator of this infinite universe and it is he who controls this by his will and to him we shall all go back after this life. There is simply too much evidence that God exists to refute his existence. There is such a 'churn' going on all around us that it is impossible to say that it is happening because of nothing. Can you imagine a book without an author, can you imagine a home without an owner, can you imagine a beautiful garden without a gardner. No way. Think again and again and again and you will reach the conclusion that there is a supreme God and he has no partners and it is only he who deserves to be praised and obeyed by one and all.

If there can be one god, there can be serval gods also. There are many countries on planet earth, each with different rulers and different set of rules and regulation. The gods or their accredited agents many be waiting at the gates of heaven or hell (some sort of no-man's land) to catch hold of the souls and push them into the heaeven or hell !!!!!!! Why limit the creator to only one????
