It is our fortune we have a visionary, humble person like Dr.Kalam. It is sad the decision makers of the country do not involve or elicit opinion of Dr.Kalam.

Mr Kalam is an eminent scietist. But I strongly disagree to the fact he is a visionary/statesman or a person who can change India fundamentally . He is a person much hyped by the media and popular amongst the middle class and cyber collies who shares his vision about India fast becoming a global power. But I think he has no concrete solution to India remedies. HE talks of providing Urban amenitis to rural areas to rid India of its poverty. MY simple question is --Is there no poverty in Urban India. Has he not seen slums in Mumbai and other cities. How does he propose to deal with problems like illiteracy ,corruption and fundamentalism and farmer suicides.

He has concrete and workable plans. Just the political will to exercise the bureaucratic machinery is lacking; in our system
"Is there no poverty in Urban India." - ofcourse there is. But its an effect result of an cause, what is the cause. The problem cannot be solved if keep correcting the effect as the cause will always bring the same effect. The cause here is rural development, there is no rural development and hence the people flock to Mumbai creating slums, the effect. Once the rural areas start giving at least 10% of the basic amenities we can see a huge reduction in the people flocking to the main cities.
So when Mr Kalam talks about rural development he is talking about the cause not the effect.
The problem of illiteracy, corruption and fundamentalism cannot be solved in a day. India faces another big problem the people who goes to school turns out to be only literates where we want educationalists in the country. There is a difference between literate and being educated. It is this group of people who are more involved in corruption and fundamentalism. Now to quote a gentleman "If you want to be corrupt know your law" see how true it is, no corrupt people would have have gone free if only the literates were not corrupt.
So besides solving for illiteracy the country also needs to change the exsisting education system which does not instill the quest to think beyond in those young childrens. Also its your and mine responsibility to see that those young childrens start having a thought of their own and that will help the country.
