termination of pregnancy
by vjmumbai on Aug 04, 2008 05:25 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

Imagine the mother requesting to abort her own child. Imagine the child within the mother must be crying hearing that its mother want to abort it. We know everyting is transmitted from mother to child during her pregnancy. Can this mother understand that she is asking to KILL HER OWN CHILD. I want to ask this mother, if the child was born normal and after birth the child faces a very serious sickness (God forbid). What will she do? Ask the court to authorize her to kill her own child? Just because of technology she is knowing that the child is sick and there is technology to help the child, which she do not want to use. She want to use technology to KILL but she do not want to use technology to RESTORE. What kind of a women she is? She has advanced well in her pregency stage and the child is almost formed, and she want to do anything to kill her own child. CAN'T YOU GIVE LIFE TO THIS CHILD OF YOURS ? CAN'T YOU GIVE YOUR CHILD ONE MORE CHANCE TO LIVE ? There are mothers who are crying to have kids, and here is a mother who is crying to have her kid killed by her own hands. PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT TO KILL YOUR UNBORN CHILD. WHAT GOD HAS GIVEN, LET GOD TAKE AWAY. Sequeira from Mumbai

Try to think practically. If you are not very well off, and you can't provide sufficient medical support to the child, the child will suffer a slow painful death which is worse and a bigger sin than terminating right away before it is born.

there are millions of parents in india who cannot even afford masic medical care for teir kids. Should they also kill their children. Should we contribute specially for them also ( in fact we are already doing by paying our taxes).

no boss, ur tax money is not going to kid of above category. Don't be so childish in your approach. Parents will have to pay from nose for this kids' survival. At the end one more very poor family will be added to the list. Our Govt. of this court is not going to help them once this kid born with problem as reported by doctors.

Just imagin, she gave birth and they did not manage to arrange money then what that lady will do, watch her kid dyeing in front of her eyes? Will she ever manage to come out from that guilt that she did not manage to arrange money to save her kid?

child is almost formed -- as you said, but NOT A CHILD as of yet (nor a baby)...so the rest of what you said should be ignored (seriously, not sarcastically)....

Thats like looking at an egg and saying "Thats almost a bird" or even better looking at a sperm and saying "Hey thats almost going to be a foetus"..

Based on the "almost a" part of your post...I think its not about killing a child...

I totally agree with you about killing a child or a baby but as long as its "ALMOST A ...." I think its fair to call it off.

Regards

Further in the article:

For the purpose, they had sought amendment of a section of the Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act under which the foetus can be aborted after 20 weeks only if there was a fatal risk to the mother and not the foetus.

I feel thats good enough to aid them as well....If the Govt. wont heed its own rules,...why keep rules. I also feel HC saying no, is going to cause long term issues and this is going to become a massive topic soon enough - once things go wrong (ethically or unethically)...The state will be sued (that's possible right..or only in USA??).

As mentioned on and off in other sections of this thread/s , we cant use the term baby or child..its still a foetus...so unless you want to start saying "Dont killl Foetus" or Don't Support Foetus killing...people mentioning KILLING CHILD/BABY are out of line..Theres a difference between foetus and child..thats why its called Foetus....

I think everyone who feels the foetus termination appeal was wrong should then say DONT KILL or let mothers kill their "FOETUS" and not baby or child...

OR OPTIONALLY ask the Govt. to recgonize foetus as child or baby....

You ask What kind of a women she is? She is normal middle class women. She has every right to express her apprehension. After all it is she who is carrying the child and naturally she is worried. The mistake she did was approaching the legal authorities. The child, if born with abnormalities, will have a tough time. At that time no one will come forward and help him/her.
