Trust rediff to change an inocuous "I fervently desire that those people who decide to live in Karnataka should voluntarily learn Kannada and send their children to Kannada schools." into a belligerent "People living in Karnataka should learn Kannada".

the two statements are not different, they mean the same, dont cover up his chauvinism.

How very smart? I presume that in your dictionary "voluntary" and "forced" mean the same thing.

Then again, don't bother. Quibbling over terminology isn't going to get us anywhere. Rediff has a history of hyping things beyond recognition, and it is no different this time.
