Gujrat road experience
by krishnan umesh on Apr 16, 2008 02:01 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

Guys,

I had been to Vadodara for nearly 2 weeks last month.

It was really shocking to notice that people doesnt have any kind of discipline on the roads.

Even in the middle of the city, you will find people rashing as if they dont care for their life.

Adding to that you will not find anybody called traffic police even at the bussiest junctions.

Public transport system is so poor that the autos will be filled with more than 10 people.

There is no exception for the autos carrying the school kids. I was praying to god everytime i was sitting in a cab.

Before building the express highways and IT parks pl correct the basics and.

Otherwise incidents like this will repeat......

True.
Spare the metros, the traffic sysem in India is utter chaos. The Government instead of giving postmortem help, should actively target the black areas of road transport, like:
1. Raising standards of obtaining license.
2. Compulsory computerised check on public transport vehicles, every year.
3. Greater penalty for traffic wrongs.
4. Improve infrastructure like roads and public transport more.
5. vigilance by squads to check speed and passenger capacity limits of public transport.
