When did we last hear One of India's greatest social reformer Raja Ram Mohan Roy? He is now relegated to irrelevance!!Do you know why? Because you can never explain-Raja Ram Mohan without the impact Islam left on him. Today Madarassa's are accused of promoting backwardness,but this prodigial son of a Brahmn father studied in this so called Madarrsa in Patna and learnt Arabic so much so that he later wrote a book called Tuhfat-ul-Muwahhidin (Gifts of Monotheism) -in Arabic in which he preached unity of God.

How much he loved Islam?
He was expelled by his father from his house for his stauch opposition to polytheism.After his father's death he was denied inheritance rights for his open support of Islam.
He is instrumental in ridding so many evils like sati and widow abomination and is rigtfully called the father of modern india.The social renaissance of India for many came through Raja Ram Mohan Roy and he is a student of Islam.It is ignorance of our own history that makes you hate Prophet Muhammed and Quran - which directly and indirectly brought justice and rid the society from evils.

Good Question!! we will never know this because he died rather unceremonisoulsy in London. More over he has reasons not to disclose that too because doing so will not help him in gettig rid of the social evils he fought in the scociety. Whether he is a Muslim or not is not the actual point.Here is the man who was expelled from his home and for his love of Islam so much so that his sistrs denied him property rights even after his father-s death.so how can you discount the impact Islam left on him.
