Telugu and Kannada have almost Same Script. Both languages are siblings in many ways brought together by history and fate many times in the past and have amicable attitude towards each other.

Telugus have great respect for Kannada language and Kannada people, unlike Tamils who think and live like Tribals, unable to appreciate other languages and cultures.

United state can be called Vijayanagara Rashtram. Telugu and Kannada can be state languages like during times of Vijayanagara rule. There will be sea-to-sea exposure from either sides and the combined region will be benefiting immensely through this advantage(goods can be traded to Europe to west or Japan in east without any hiccups), with inland industrial corridor from Bangalore to Hyderabad, and places beyond in the region.
Telugus and Kannadigas can live peacefully in a combined state and enriching each other's culture. In fact people in the combined state can learn both the languages to give rise to hybrid culture that will be more vibrant. Both people can settle anywhere in the combined state, so there is no need for water or land disputes.

Geographically(Dandakaranya borders AP to the north), and culturally(Telugus are everywhere), Telugus are well positioned to benefit and protect Kannada people and culture from any aggression(be it tamil, hindi or marathi).

is it a right solution? India was united based on the "Unity in Diversity" policy because many states had their own traditions which survived through several centuries. During independence, all states were united because of noble minds like gandhi and nehru. But today the politicians have changed. they are simply the bhoots and evils for the new india. We all need to be generous in orer to solve this problem while sustaining our own traditions. So the central government must also treat the state governments with respect and make hindi as an optional language rather than enforcing everyone to learn it.
