Political games
by Natesh on Apr 02, 2008 10:26 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

Kannadigas are extremely tolerant and it is the politicians who are inciting hatred. Being an election year and no clear majority of people every party in Karnataka is indulging in such violent activity. Nationalistic feelings always strike a chord in people. There is no issue in Hokenagal project as the river is flowing from Karnataka to TN and not vice versa. Once the river comes to TN the water can be stored and used for irrigation. The karnataka farmers are no way affected. In the case of Alamatti Dam issue Krishna was going from Karnataka to AP and the state was building a dam to maximise the usage of water and hence opposed by AP. In this case only the water that is already shared by Karnataka is used by TN. This is simple cheap political game and violence seems to be the tactic of every party in India now. Raj Thackarey started it not BJP in Karnataka. God save India from disintegrating.

My Dear Friend, First of all, try to understand the water sharing policy between Karnataka & Tamilnadu. The Tamilnadu share of water is measured at Biligundlu which comes after Hogenkkal. If Tamilnadu is trying to use water much before the Biligondlu area, can%u2019t you think, it is the violation of the Policy. Karnataka has to shed much more water than the previous years. Already there is a Injustice to Karnataka in this issue as every body knows that People of Cauvery Basin in Tamilnadu are enjoying with 3 crops a year where as the same people in Karnataka have to be satisfied for 2 crops a year.

Coming to the recent comments made by Mr. Karunanidhi and the action taken over by South Indian Film Industry Association at Chennai. I feel Mr. Karunanidhi doesn%u2019t have better stuff than this issue to please some tamil fans and to have indirect control over other useless political parties in Tamilnadu. If they really are in need of water, they could have appealed to the Tribunal. Already this issue is long pending with the Tribunal.
It is nothing but to cover up the government%u2019s failure or to check whether people%u2019s support is there or not.
