Don't fall for government-orchestrated rhetoric..
by Indian Indian on Sep 18, 2007 09:58 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

These are not Kakodkar's ideas..these are government-orchestrated rhetoric...after all, he gets his salary from the government...The real position is that India will become slave to the US if this nuclear deal is operationalized (I am not a communist). Don't get emotional..Look through the details...you will know how the US has put all humiliating clauses and conditions in the Hyde Act and in the 123 agreement...Sonia, Manmohan, Kapil Sibal, etc. will keep talking big about energy security and all hi-gi stuff, while all their mind is on how to grab a BIG COMMISSION IN DOLLARS IN NUCLEAR PURCHASES, SINCE A LOT OF FOREIGN EXCHANGE RESERVES ARE WITH INDIA RIGHT NOW...While one cannot stop a foreigner like Sonia from looting India, what is saddening is that to what extent she can sell India to get that money...People have forgotten how Manmohan went to the US and signed the July 2005 statement like a thief, without any hint about it in India...and how the Cabinet as a whole has again did the signing quickly and stealthily like a bunch of thieves.. all this is because they know that they cannot properly defend the agreement..so, they want to dump the agreement on India, as a 'fait accompli'...DON'T FALL FOR SONIA AND OTHER CONGRESS PERSONS' DESIGNS FOR LOOTING INDIA'S BURGEONING FOREIGN EXCHANGE RESERVES..

Mr. High funda Raj,

I understood that you got some idea about n-deal from himalayan funda speaking people from PB calcatta. when you analysis the data, do it in a right way. in 60 years new indian history, nobody gain the political advantage to make the people dump and fool. whatever u learn from the wrong (Left) leader. even a common people know that we cant depend only on natural resource to generate electricity. if cabinet did in a speedy way to reach this level, just becoz they know people like you will be against such a 'turning point' movement.

be practical.. do something good for India.

Jai Hind

From SSM (continued )
The envisaged 123Agreement between India-USA, (after two years of tough bargaining by our diplmats, nuclear scientists and national security advisor)has far liberal stipulations than those imposed on China . For example India is allowed to reprocess spent fuel, without seeking permission .Our nominated power reactors will be inspected by IEAE and not by US inspectors. The coal soot belched into the atmosphere by our coal fired power stations , as also in China , is already having serious climatic effect ( both in India & China ), in the shape of very severe floods in many states & even in the deserts of Rajasthan. After signing such agreement, if China is following an independant foreign policy , why is there a fear that a great & economic powerhouse like India will be subjugated by USA . The India of today is not the India of 1960's when we were dependent on US PL-480 shipments of wheat to feed our nation. We still retained our independant foreign policy by voting against US sponsored UN resolutions on numerous occasions. We signed the Indo-Soviet Friedship Treaty in the 1970's and despite the doomesday sayers , kept our independant forign policy intact. If we could do that during the bipolar cold war era, when India was not so economically powerful; where is the fear now in a multi-polar world of being subjugated by USA.For further progress, raising our population above poverty-line,providing full employment and a better standard of living for all, w

yeah sunil u r right, all over the world there is more reliance on nuclear tech for power needs, one of the major obstacles for india's growth right now is power to run our industries and nuclear power will be able to provide a large chunk of the future need.having said that usa is a very notorius friend-we should get as much benifit as we can from this deal but in the process not give up our own research and development activities.May be we can add to our"BURGEONING FOREIGN EXCHANGE RESERVES" when we have more power(electricity) to run the industries!!

Indian,

For your information, Dr. Anil Kakodkar is the Chairman of Atomic Energy Council of India.

Though he gets the salary from Government of India, he is a scientist and has his own say in the decisions.

He should not have any wrong intention while advocating the need for nuclear power.

no such work culture in india. everybody is sold. look at manmohan and co. same goes for this kakotkar. on the other hand, the nuclear deal is a good thing. it will bring us to our logical and beneficial alignment with US and away from our farcical nehruvian past.
